About Ivy's Cafe & Bar
Ivy's Cafe & Bar is an independent coffee shop in Bristol, on 7A, set within a new development and trading Monday to Friday with both Saturday and Sunday closed, so plans need to fall on a weekday. Reservations are recommended. Cooked breakfasts anchor the menu, with a small English breakfast alongside a veggie version, and the counter pours regular black coffee, double espresso, tea and chai latte. Cakes sit on display, and bread pudding joins the bakes. Vegan choices are limited, with no vegan cakes or cookies. Seating runs both inside and out, giving customers the option to eat outdoors, and high chairs make room for families with young children. A step-free, wheelchair-accessible entrance serves visitors with mobility needs. Dogs are welcome, and the room suits people meeting up with friends and family.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is what brings people back most often, with reviewers singling out the small English breakfast described as cooked to perfection and a veggie breakfast that hit the spot during an errand wait. Coffee runs a close second, one visitor arriving skeptical of machine-made coffee and leaving impressed by a smooth black cup with no burnt note, while others mention a double espresso, a chai latte called delightful and simple pots of tea. Cakes and a bread pudding, cakey and fruity with a crisp top, come up repeatedly, as does the friendly, efficient service and the value, which several call affordable and good. A vegan visitor notes the trade-off plainly, finding no vegan sandwich, roll or cake on offer and leaving without eating, and asks for a couple of options to be added. One reviewer describes the place as easy to miss in a new development and suggests extra signage, and several mention already arranging a return visit with family or friends.

“Lovely cafe, nice coffee, friendly staff. Unfortunately we couldn't eat anything because there were limited vegan options, would be great if a couple could be added to the menu (eg vegan sausage sandwich, vegan sausage roll, even beans on toast if spread is vegan like flora). Also no vegan cakes or cookies, would again be great if there was an option, I'd be in all the time as would fellow vegan friends and family”

“I'm usually quite skeptical of Cafes in particular thanks to my love of coffee, the food and atmosphere of a cafe but Ivy's Cafe is superb. I ordered a regular black coffee and a bread pudding before walking into the back and taking a seat. The decor was minimalist and cozy, homely, in a word. The cup of coffee was about as large as the bread pudding and both of them were £5.50 total (imagine my surprise). I'm extremely skeptical of coffee made in a machine but this cup was amazing, smooth with no hint that anything was burnt with a nice flavour and aroma which far exceeded my expectations. The bread pudding was very filling, Cakey and fruity with a lovely crisp top. The people there were extremely friendly and their service was very efficient as well as eager to know what I thought of their food haha. Overall a 5/5 experience for me, if I lived in bristol it would be my go to frequent every time I'm in need of a cafe. This is what a cafe should be and I hope they can stay around for years to come.”
