Customer Review Summary

Matcha is the most repeated draw at Poquito, with reviewers naming a blueberry matcha and an iced white chocolate matcha with a coffee shot, while others simply say they love the matcha. Close behind is the coffee, including a shaken brown sugar cinnamon Americano, and the pastries, with the almond croissant called incredible, the pistachio croissant called delightful on weekends, and vegan pastries described as divine. One diner had bagels with salmon, and another mentions the open windows, outdoor seating and music at a good volume, though the decor is called plain and the road busy and noisy. The recurring complaint is opening hours: several reviewers arrived well before the stated closing time and found the shop shut. Two reviewers also report being given cows milk after ordering oat milk, one of whom has a dairy condition and says they were charged for a second drink after raising it. The other describes the server as rude and offering no apology. Reviewers who praise the staff call them lovely, and one says the effort shows in each cup.

“Amazing and thoughtful service, iced white chocolate matcha with a coffee shot is definitely my new go to, comfy little place and wasn't busy, also has huge open windows and outdoor seating and the perfect volume of music!”

“I hate to write a bad review for an independent in Bristol but this place has become so disappointing recently. On a number of occasions I’ve ordered oat milk to be given cows milk which is incredibly concerning for those with allergies. On top of that, on the occasions I’ve gone to explain the error the man serving has been incredibly rude and entitled, not even a simple apology for the error. The staff used to be lovely and the place was a local favourite but sadly not I’ll be returning any more.”
  • Alex Smith
“Best coffee, best matcha, incredible pastries BUT WHAT ARE YOUR OPENING HOURS!! 😭 We have failed many times in the week coming to the shop when it is said to be open, to find out that it is closed.”
  • S
“Tried to go multiple times but have been closed even though it was well before the stated closing times which is frustrating. Managed to get in once and coffee was nice, pistachio croissant was decent but wouldn’t get again. The service was also good and quick but please make the opening/closing times more accurate for everyone’s convenience.”
  • Harriet Broughton
“Honestly we’ve been a fair bit before and the vegan pastries are divine! Coffee is also amazing. But there’s been 2 occasions (with the same person serving us) when I’ve ordered oat milk and been given cows milk. This is really serious as I have a medical condition where I can’t eat any dairy. On one occasion I challenged him when collecting my coffee (“Is this made with oat milk?” Which I ask everywhere just in case) and he had us pay for a second drink! Really poor allergy procedures, and I don’t think we can go again just from a safety standpoint.”
