About Plough and Harrow
Plough and Harrow is a pub on Newell Green in Bracknell, now under new ownership. The chef is celiac, and the staff explain how gluten-free food is cooked, so guests with dietary needs can ask before they order. The kitchen serves Sunday roasts and handles allergy requests, and the vegan menu includes a vegan pizza. At the bar, real ales sit alongside craft beers such as Alfies Lager. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring them along.

Customer Review Summary
Burgers come up most, from the chilli burger with cheese and added sriracha that one diner called not your usual burger, to burgers and chips that reassured a coeliac customer after staff explained the chef is also coeliac, to burgers served with a free Guinness and large portions. Close behind are the homemade haddock and cheese fishcakes, the vegan pizza, a tasty steak and a piping hot Sunday roast, with the craft beers and a lager also praised. Reviewers repeatedly describe the staff as friendly and helpful, and several mention value for money. The main complaint comes from one reviewer who waited a very long time with only a few tables occupied, then received what seemed like reheated frozen calamari and onion rings in uncooked batter, was given several conflicting excuses, and found it overpriced. Another found a Friday lunchtime strangely quiet. Dog owners note their dogs were given a drink and a special snack.

“We came here last week and loved it! Great pub, great vibes. Staff were attentive, friendly and personable. We tried out their new Vegan menu and LOVED it! The vegan pizza was amaze. We also tried a couple pints of Alfies Lager - 10/10 and had the pleasure of meeting Alfie himself! 10/10 Good boy. Definitely recommend!”

“Over 2 hours for definitely reheated frozen food!! When there was only like 2 or 3 other tables in the whole place this is not good enough. Calamari and onion rings were interchangeable...both seemed like weird reformed food in uncooked batter!! Overall very underwhelming and overpriced for sub-par food. When asking what the problem was with the wait, we were given multiple different excuses that just didn't make sense!! Not likely to bother going again. Would be fine if it was quarter the price as you would except that sort of quality food for a much cheaper price. Drive thru on the way home me thinks!!”

“We came here on 29th April at lunchtime by chance as had dogs with us, Elliott was incredibly helpful and welcoming, made sure dogs had a drink and informed us about the menu options which were refreshingly different to usual pub food. We had hime made haddock and cheese fishcakes, so fresh and melt in the middle! Also the Plough chilli burger which was so tasty with the variety of spicy flavours, cheese and added siracha sauce - not your usual burger! All served hot and tasty. He suggested drinks - the craft beers are amazing. We had a good chat and thoroughly enjoyed it - highly recommended will return again. I've added the latest menus for information, well worth the money!”

“Good proper pub with good range of food. All our dishes were tasty( we were seven people.) Knowledgeable and polite barman Was strangely quiet on Friday lunch time, hence the three stars for atmosphere. Would certainly go back.”
