About Kazoku Pan Asian Bournemouth

Kazoku Pan Asian Bournemouth is a pan-asian restaurant at 204 Old Christchurch Rd in Bournemouth, built around a menu of about 20 dishes. The list spans sushi, sashimi, ramen, gyoza and takoyaki, along with a katsu curry bento. The Sushi Set Box covers the sushi side of the menu in one order, and the Bento Box with Chicken Katsu Curry pairs the curry with its box. Sushi and sashimi arrive with ginger and wasabi alongside. Vegan diners can order curry tofu soup, and Pork Lo Mein Noodles sit with the noodle dishes beyond ramen. Salt and pepper squid is served as an appetiser or side.

Customer Review Summary

Sushi is the main draw, with diners singling out the volcano roll, the Crunchy Samurai Roll and nigiri one reviewer calls probably the best of their life. Others describe the sushi as fresh and tasty. Gyoza come close behind, from prawn gyoza with crisp pastry to crispy chicken and vegetable gyoza that one delivery customer named a favourite. Salt and pepper squid, grilled chicken ramen in a full-flavoured pork broth and a curry tofu soup one reviewer called incredible also earn mentions. Several describe generous portions and reasonable value for the quality. Warm greetings and friendly staff come up repeatedly, even when the room is busy. Service is where the complaints gather. One diner waited 20 minutes before anyone took an order while staff cleaned empty tables. Another had two dishes forgotten and was then billed for an extra dish, with plates slow to clear despite a quiet room. One delivery arrived a little late.

“We stumbled upon this restaurant by pure chance, seeing it almost full on a Wednesday evening, when all the other restaurants in the street were nearly empty. We took their last available table, and although they were busy, Isla, our waitress made us feel as if we were her only customers. I had prawn gyozas for starter, and there were a generous five on my plate. They arrived fresh and hot within ten minutes of ordering, the pastry crisp and the chopped prawn inside beautifully seasoned and cooked to perfection. The accompanying salsa had just the right amount of chilli to provide a little heat without masking the flavours underneath. My main was the grilled chicken ramen in a pork broth which was full flavoured and warming with plenty of chicken. I cannot fault the meal or the service and you need look no further than their incredible reviews to know that when you dine here, you are in for a treat. If the quality of the food alone is not enough to tempt you, we enjoyed starter, a main and a drink for the paltry sum of £25 per head. You will struggle to find food this good anywhere else in Bournemouth, and you will certainly not get such incredible value for money. Thank you Andrew and Karen, and thank you Isla, we will be back! 😊”

“Excellent food, only they forgot 2 of our dishes and finally billed an extra dish on top of the 2 forgotten ones. It took a while for someone to come clear the plates, not the best service I'm afraid, especially since there were almost no other customers.”

“Food was the best asian food i have had in such a long time. There are so many veggie options to choose from and they all looked so tasty. i had the curry tofu soup and it was incredible! the staff were so friendly and welcoming and the restaurant itself is so cute. i would highly recommend to any veggies or vegans to eat here. it’s was so reasonably priced too for how much food you get and the quality. Will be back soon! thanks guys!”

“We had such a lovely meal at Kazoku! 🍣 Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. The sushi was fresh and really tasty, and the salt and pepper squid was absolutely delicious — crispy, flavourful and a perfect appetiser. 😍 The portions were generous, the food came nicely presented, and we really enjoyed the whole experience. Definitely a great place for sushi in Bournemouth. We’ll definitely be coming back! ❤️🍣”
