“Just finished a lovely meal at the livy Bournemouth. Food was amazing. Service was excellent and the restaurant atmosphere lovely with stunning decor. The only one dissapointing thing was the price of small diet coke. I know that restaurants need to cover costs and make a profit but £4.50 for a small diet coke seems excessive especially when we had 5. 1L of diet coke for £22.50! But food, service, atmosphere and for night out .. A*********”

“The food at The Ivy is good, but the overall experience is mixed. The courgette frittes and rice balls are fantastic nibbles to start with, and the minute steak is definitely worth having because the peppercorn sauce is delicious, though the cod and linguine were just okay. As for the drinks, we found the cocktails a bit underwhelming for the price. The martini and margarita came in very small glassware and felt more like shots than full cocktails, as it was hard to taste the alcohol. While the place is tasteful and the toilets are clean and nice looking, the atmosphere is held back by the service. A few of the senior team members came across as quite distant and disengaged on several occasions, which gives the restaurant a bit of a formal, less welcoming vibe. Service can also be very slow, and it takes a while to get the bill at the end.”

“We arrived and was shocked by the rudeness of the receptioness. Our table was not available and he told us this was because we booked last minute thankfully we were able to prove to him this was not the case we had booked over a week previously. No apology from him. He did take us to the bar but only one seat was vacant he told us one of us must stand or we wait outside for a table it was not so much what he said it was the attitude. At the bar we ordered a shiraz but they didnt have one, our 2nd choice of red wine again they did not serve , we had no choice but to have a melbec.. finally a table was available and we were led from the bar into a back room that looked like a cafe near the toilets, tables crammed in not at all what we expected. I refused to eat in such a cramped room and opted to wait longer for a table in the main dining room. What also surprised me was no offer to carry our drinks, or even a complimentary drink as an apology for our long wait. My sons fiance was embarressed because she had booked this for a birthday treat and she felt she had let me down. Once seated at a decent table i did enjoy the food and we did have a lovely evening.”

“Took my wife for Afternoon Tea to celebrate our 12th Wedding Anniversary. Maitre d' wished us a happy anniversary on arrival - nice touch. Our server, Millie, was fantastic; friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable. A real credit to her Company, please pass on our sincere thanks for looking after us. Food was excellent, very well presented and served very quickly. We had plenty of time at the table to enjoy our meal. Good value when you consider it's very upmarket, with lovely decor and ambiance. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommended 10/10”
