About Henighans
Henighans is a pub in Bolton at 71 Lever St, with a restaurant side that serves food under the same roof as the bar. BBurger runs a trailer in the beer garden that serves empanadas, which gives visitors a second food option outside the main kitchen. Inside, the menu includes a steak and ale pie, and a pork dish comes with mustard mash and crumb-coated black pudding. Because the restaurant sits inside the pub, the atmosphere is noisy. The drinks list also carries an espresso martini for anyone who wants a cocktail with their meal.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often return for the food, and the pie leads: the steak and ale pie draws the strongest praise, with the pork chop, the beast burger, a pork dish with mustard mash and crumb coated black pudding, and the stroganoff also singled out. The apple pie and strawberry cheesecake come up as desserts, and the empanadas from the trailer in the beer garden get a mention. Several say they have been back repeatedly, and the staff are described as great and welcoming, with one server praised for being happy and funny. Drinks get a lighter mention, with one reviewer enjoying an espresso martini. The caveats are modest: one reviewer found it quite noisy and the drinks a bit expensive, while another noted the pub atmosphere brings some noise. One negative visit describes being told there was no chef and so no food, despite ringing ahead, and a cashback claim refused because the receipt showed the wrong drink name after the till had not been updated. Reviewers praising the food close on a repeated line, that nowhere nearby matches it.

“Make sure you pop at BBurger's trailer in the Beer Garden. Empanadas are just perfection made a half moon of crispiness... Well bye!”

“Just incredibly disappointing all round. I have lived in the area for a long time and finally decided to try this place as i had a cashback voucher for a drink and wanted to try the food. Before I even got in the door, a chav in the beer garden decided to shout abuse at me because I am disabled and have trouble walking. Almost turned around and left. But I go in and ask about food and am told there is no chef so no food. Pity they didn't tell me this when I rang earlier to see if it was open. So I then order my thatchers cider with itemised receipt and lo and behold the receipt has the wrong drink name on because they "haven't updated the till." So my cashback claim was refused. All in all, wish I hadn't bothered. And probably won't bother again. Who comments on a disabled person walking into a pub? Horrendous.”

“Under new managment for the food. It's wonderful food, I've just had the best pie I've ever had there today, I had the steak and ale, followed by strawberry cheese cake, both perfect. Staff are great too. I can not recomend this enough, just leave room for me please? I've just had the pleasure of eating here again, Stroganoff and it was perfection. Thank you Chef...
