Northern Monkey Brew Co is a brewery tap room in Bolton, set in an industrial unit at 68 Chorley St. The team brews its own Northern Monkey beers on site, and the bar pours them alongside guest taps. The line-up runs to about 2 or 3 cask beers and 2 or 3 keg beers, with wines, ciders and local Bolton gins also on offer. The tap room opens on Fridays and Saturdays only and is closed the other five days of the week. Live music is held on occasion. The same owners also run a sister pub on Nelson Square.

“OK, however better suited to the younger audience. I have friends who seem to like it, but prefer the traditional pub. When it was the Pack Horse Hotel residents bar was my personal taste even though I was young. But things change and this provides much needed Bolton variety.”

“Great chilled place, out of the way from town, pleasant people. Food only 1 star as only crisps so can't rate on that. The main bar on Nelson square, owned by same folk, the food is amazing.”
