Customer Review Summary

Gluten-free fish and chips draw the most attention. Reviewers describe them as made fresh to order, with a wide range of options, and one calls the food 100% safe to eat. Close behind are the cod and chips themselves. The fish is called fresh, flaky and succulent under a light batter that stays crisp, and the chips are described as outstanding and the best some have had in ages. Several say the food arrives piping hot and that quality stays consistent from visit to visit. Reviewers also mention kids' boxes that children love, an excellent portion size, and friendly, funny service from the owner and staff. The caveats are small. One reviewer found the large curry sauce smaller than expected, and another notes there is no seating area, since the narrow shop only fits a queue. One family with a gluten intolerance says the chef caters for everyone, and a first-time customer recalls the owner explaining over the phone that he would cook the gluten-free order fresh.

“After years of trying to find a decent chip shop in Birmingham, I can finally say I’ve found one. The chips are outstanding. The cod is excellent too. Fresh, flaky fish with a light batter that stays crisp. Always piping hot when it arrives home. What really stands out is the consistency. Every visit has been just as good as the last. The service is genuinely warm. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they care about what they’re serving. If you want great fish and chips, this is the place. Highly recommended.”

“I’ve been meaning to try this place out for a very long time but never had the chance as I am not local to Kings Norton/Cotteridge. I know the area well as I have friends nearby, so today when I finished work it was only a short bus ride from the city centre on route to my mates. It cost me £13.50p for a large Cod & Chips. A very good portion and I throughly enjoyed it as it is a proper traditional British chippy. Shame there is no seating area but the shop is quite narrow so only enough space for customers to wait in line. Irrelevant to the actual review but I wanted to add the very pretty woman that served me made the experience even more enjoyable if that was even a thing or possible? 🤔”
