About Sheereen Kadah
Sheereen Kadah is a Pakistani restaurant in Birmingham, at 543 Moseley Rd. The menu pairs paya curry and nihari with naan, paratha or roti, so each curry comes with a choice of bread. Katlama is sold alongside the kebabs, which are cooked on a grill. For something sweet, the counter has mithai and zarda/mutanjan sweet rice, and desi tea is on the menu. The restaurant takes walk-ins. It is a long-standing shop that has been renovated and now has new staff.

Customer Review Summary
Katlama is the item reviewers raise most, and opinions split sharply. Long-time customers who have bought it for decades still list katlama, samosas, kebabs and haleem as reliable, and one praises the Chicken Tikka and Lamb Kebabs with a roti, along with the nihari with a crisp paratha. The paya curry and soft naan earn mentions too, and one reviewer calls the desi tea very good. The complaints recur, though. Several describe katlama filled with pastry instead of meat, and a few report stale or day-old samosas, aloo tikki and kebabs, with staff insisting they were fresh. One reviewer reports food poisoning after samosas and a katlama with off-smelling mince. Others call the zarda and mithai average and say the food no longer matches what it was decades ago. Several mention rude or bored counter staff, and one says no goodwill gesture was offered after a complaint about pastry-filled katlama.

“If I could give 0 stars I would; we picked up some samosas yesterday and a katlama, once one of my favourite shops to get a katlama from I ignored the poor reviews until my experience today. The samosas broke in the bag and the smell of mince was disgusting. Out of love of my money I ate a few bites and the horrendous food poisoning I have had since then is indescribable. Not to mention the katlama is stuffed with the same gone off meat; the sauce is thin and flavourless, coloured water literally. Literally nothing was a good experience down to the lack of customer service! How this place has gone down. My stomach is aching! I guess I shouldn’t be surprised because I don’t even see a fridge for those katlama. I beg any customers to please give this spot a swerve. It’s not worth your health. The food isn’t even that good. 0/5 stars from me.”

“Had a Samosa and it was dry and the red sauce was off. The new guy at the front said yes boss fresh from yesterday. Also aloo tikki be careful it was so dry almost died with the rough ingredient so dry and he was lied to my face and saying it was made today. New staff don’t care about the place. They look bored as if they want to go home.”

“Renovated and with new staff. Food is okay, very good hygiene. The place has had its ups and downs but it's no longer a national treasure as the food is significantly unrecognisable to 30 years ago.”

“My mate gave me a katalama years ago in Ramadan, I ate it the next day. It was the best I ever had. This place became my favourite. Today 17/3/26, I decided to there just before iftari, I bought 5 katalama and some kebabs for the family. They guy at the till told me they are fresh. My verdict! Absolutely nasty, they must of gave me few days old, even the kebab were horrible. I think sometimes they give old food that they couldn't sell. I got put off. I went all the way from Alum rock to this shop in traffic, and this is what I get. I know some people would disagree, but the day you have there left over food then you will know about it.”
