Kurdish Naan
Quick info
About Kurdish Naan
Kurdish Naan is a halal restaurant in Birmingham at 614 Washwood Heath Rd, where the naan is made fresh in front of the customer. The Kurdish Special Naan is a pizza-like bread topped with cheese and sweet corn. Kulcha naan and roti are sold alongside it, and the breads are available daily. The shop also stocks Middle Eastern and Kurdish groceries, fruit, a few prepared breads and dairy products, so a visit can cover more than the naan. Reservations are required. Checkout is handled at a separate counter.

Customer Review Summary
Fresh naan made at the counter in front of customers is what most reviewers return for, and the Kurdish Special Naan, described as pizza-like with cheese and sweet corn, gets the strongest praise. Close behind are the kulcha, with one reviewer calling the garlic kulcha very tasty and another saying they will get kulchey every time, plus roti that a reviewer calls a decent thickness, though one would like it thinner. Several also mention the friendly, welcoming staff, and some point to the shelves of fruit, spices and Middle Eastern products. The caveats come mainly from the bread itself. One reviewer says the naans turn tough a few minutes after cooling and help from reheating, while another found the kulcha rubbery, dry and thick, without the black seeds shown in the advertising photo. A third reviewer describes a rude phone call, an order that was missing items and having to be told by another customer to pay at a separate counter. One reviewer notes the shop is always busy and the wait is not long.

“Kurdish Naan is brilliant – not just for fresh bread, but also a great selection of fruits, Middle Eastern and Kurdish products. Everything is fresh and authentic, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. A proper one-stop spot for all your Kurdish and Middle Eastern essentials. Highly recommend!”

“Ordered 3 naan and 2 kulcha naans. First of all false advertising about kulcha naans. They didnt have the black seeds on top nor was are they fresh though they made it infront of me their dough is very rubbery and dry. Not good at all. Lucky i didnt spend more than £2 🤦♀️ otherwise id have gone back for a refund. ( reply to kurish naan - i asked him when i showed him the photo which had black seeds on he understood. Please change the recipe or something as it is waay to thick for it to be kulcha naan, i appreciate your response.)”
