  “Had the privilege of having a family meal here. Was welcomed by a legendary waiter called Sid. The food was amazing and so was the service. Second to none. Even though the restaurant was really busy this guy had it all on lock. Alhamdullillah.”

  “My family and I are regulars to this restaurant. The waiters know exactly how we want our food. They dont make you wait long for the food. Service is excellent. The owner is very polite and people's person. He sometimes serves himself. We go to DK on weekly basis. Keep up the good work DK”

  “Absolutely Exceptional! I visited Desi Karahi on Alum Rock Road with my Mum and Dad, and we had an incredible experience from start to finish. For starters, we ordered the Desi Mix Grill, which was packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. For the main course, we had the Lamb Karahi paired with 3 fresh naans. The lamb was incredibly tender, and the karahi sauce had that authentic, rich taste we were hoping for. Aside from the amazing food, the service really stood out. Our waiter was absolutely amazing—attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the night. We will definitely be coming back again soon! — Zakir”

  “Absolutely disappointing experience. The mixed grill looked nothing like a quality fresh grill — most of the meat was burnt, dry, and completely lacking flavour. The chicken and lamb tikka pieces were shockingly small, more like scraps than proper portions. Instead of juicy, well-marinated meat, everything tasted overcooked and bland. The presentation was poor, the meat quality felt cheap, and the entire dish seemed rushed with no attention to seasoning or balance. A mixed grill should be sizzling, flavourful, and generous in portion size — this was the complete opposite. Very poor value for money and definitely not something I would recommend. I genuinely regret ordering it.”

  “I recently had visitors and decided to take them to Desi Karahi for dinner, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The food was absolutely amazing, full of flavour, fresh, and beautifully cooked. The owner, Nadeem, is a close school friend of mine. We’ve been friends since we were just 4 years old in primary school, and he is genuinely a great person. You can really see the care and passion he puts into the restaurant. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the food and commented that it was the best food they had eaten in a long time. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes and caters for all ages, making it perfect for families and groups. I would highly recommend Desi Karahi to anyone looking for top-quality food and a welcoming atmosphere. We’ll definitely be visiting again. Kind Regards Asif Imtiaz.”

We ordered a mixed grill, lamb karahi, chicken tikka karahi, fries and some roti/naan The karahi's were rich in flavour, likewise the items on the mixed grill except the masala fish Only real negative was the naans got hard half way through...”
