  “Desi Dera is a really nice restaurant to dine and have dinner, the customer service is very good and the food is excellent but also Desi Dera is my local restaurant as i live not too far away. The only downside of Desi Dera is that they dont have any desserts such as different flavoured ice cream and they should have ice cream as its nice to have ice cream after having a meal but also Desi Dera need to put numbers on the table so the waiters know what table to go after taking orders and bringing orders so once again Desi Dera is a really nice restaurant.”

  “⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding service from Sid! From the moment we sat down, Sid made our whole dining experience absolutely brilliant. He was friendly, attentive but never overbearing, and remembered every little detail of what we wanted. His recommendations were spot on every dish and drink he suggested was delicious and perfectly suited our tastes. Even when the restaurant got busy, Sid stayed calm, smiled constantly, and made sure our glasses were topped up and plates cleared exactly when needed. He really went above and beyond, turning a nice meal into something special. Service like his is rare professional, warm, and natural. If you dine here, ask for Sid; he makes all the difference.   “We came all the way from London. Ordered a Tawa and bhindi (okra) salan. Even though there was one person working the food was exceptional. We all enjoyed the food. Please get an additional worker to serve customers whilst one person cooks.”

  “Visited Desi Dera in Birmingham for the first time to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were polite and attentive throughout. The food was excellent—especially the lamb chops and fried fish for starters, followed by the chicken and lamb karahi, all full of flavour and freshly prepared. A very enjoyable experience and a great choice for a special occasion. We look forward to visiting again.”

  “Took the family out today - we've been many times before and loved the food. Unfortunately today, everything was super-spicey (even the starters). Most of the food was left untouched. I dont like to trash on businesses, but they really need to have better consistency in their food. The previous 7 or 8 times I have been, the food has been spot on. Dont know if this is a decline or a blip. I will go again though to confirm.”

  “No nonsense, forget the service or restaurant atmosphere it’s the food that counts and the mix grill was amazing. We had a couple of mix grill, and a Karahi with naans and roti. The mix grill meats were so tasty and succulent with plenty to keep your belly satisfied.”

  “This is the second time we went to Desi Dera and the food was delicious. The lamb chops and lamb karahi were outstanding. Tried magaj (lamb brains). It wasn't really to my liking but my family loved it. Thank you for a great meal.”

  “Now here’s a place that’s sadly went down the gutter last I came here was in 2021 with the family I went last night and the service sadly has gone down the drain down the garbage. As I finished up paying for the food I asked to pay by card and one of the waiters lied to my face and said “cash only card machine not working” when that’s a stone cold lie as I went with my uncle years back and paid by card that time and they just out of nowhere said cash only and thankfully one of the waiters was polite enough for me to give me the benefit of the doubt and paid by card anyway. After that experience this will be the last time I’ll visit here.”

  “Love the food here. Food not only looked good but was really tasty and was made to additional request I made. Everything was perfect. Malai Boti, Kebabs, Karahi even mint chutney was superb (had a few refills of chutney) Service was very good and staff were very courteous. Price wise it wasn’t very expensive. A few Parking places available right outside and some on street free parking also available.”
