Customer Review Summary

Breakfast draws the most praise, with an Irish breakfast and a tasty omelette singled out, alongside friendly, fast service that reviewers repeatedly mention. Several describe big portions and great value, and one regular says the order is never wrong. A returning diner who worried about the change in management found the chicken and ham pie with chips and beans just as nice as before. Staff going out of their way comes up too, including buying a cake for a friend's birthday. The complaints centre on takeaway food. One reviewer's breakfast baguette arrived with bacon, egg and sausage piled on a roll too small for them, and the roll was burnt. Another described carryout bacon as salted cardboard, the egg as rubbery and the chips as floppy and greasy. A third found scampi bites undercooked and a buffalo chicken salad drowned in sauce. One customer was charged more than the stated coffee price for paying by card, with no signage explaining the difference.

“I visited this café and was initially charged £5 for a coffee that was stated to be £3.50. I was told verbally that the higher price was due to paying by card, which came as a surprise as there was no clear breakdown or signage explaining this difference , first time and definitely last.”

“Went here with my husband, only recently found out it was bought over by a new owner but decided to give it a go because its always been top notch food. My husband ordered buffalo chicken salad he said it was okay until after a few bites he said it was drowned in buffalo sauce and the taste was very over powering. I ordered scampi bites with chips, i tried the scampi and it was so undercooked, i tried another bite from another scampi bite just to make sure it was def under cooked and it was. I decided to eat the chips and after eating about 5 chips I noticed a very short black hair like an eye lash hair and that was it for me. We didn't complain because the server was very pleasant and we just don't like any confrontations. Would never go back to this place again.”

“Got carryout. Bacon = salted cardboard, egg = rubbery silicone, chips = floppy grease sticks. All cold beans were good. Absolutely disgusted. Disgusting. Definitely would not recommended”

“Service was amazing and quick with taking food orders and then bringing the food down to the table... Very reasonably priced... 22/12/20 back again and all I can say is wow!!!!! Food was absolutely amazing and very fast service.. I got chicken and ham pie chips and beans.. Wow!!!! Thanks for some more fabulous food... back again 19/10/24.. was worried that it wouldn't be the same as it's under new management.. I was pleasantly surprised.. it was just as nice.. nothing has changed. The food/service and atmosphere are still great... 👍👍👍”
