Quick info
About Hey Darlin’ Coffee
Hey Darlin’ Coffee is a small hatch-style coffee shop at 771a Antrim Rd in Belfast. The drinks list includes a Banana Bread Latte, served hot or iced, and a French Toast Latte. Toasted sandwiches come drizzled with hot honey and served with homemade pickles, and a ham and cheese toastie is among them. Specials have included one built on chorizo, peaches and hot honey. Traybakes, cookies and small buns sit alongside the hot drinks. The hatch opens Thursday to Sunday, daytime only, and stays closed Monday to Wednesday. When it gets busy there is a waiting area beside the hatch, and items can sell out, so staff may suggest popping back later. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
The main complaint is the queue. Reviewers mention waits of varying length when it is busy, and one says the food took about 20 minutes, though staff were clear about it before ordering. One reviewer suggests arriving early since they sometimes sell out, and another notes the outdoor seating fits only a few people, so many eat in the car. A single critical review calls the toastie and a separate charge for pickles overpriced, describes the service as grumpy, and says a nearby garage offers better value. Even so, a reviewer who saw the toasties say the staff were friendly, and another had to stop at half a toastie because of an appointment.

“Didn’t eat here but the toasties and cookies looked better than 99% of what else is out there in Irish Cafes. Staff were friendly and coffee was good. Deserves its current 4.8 Star Review 🫶🏻”

“Delicious food and really good service, I'd recommend getting there early to avoid the queues and they sometimes sell out (it's that good). I would recommend any of the grilled cheese sandwiches, haven't had a bad one yet, the hot honey, the pickles, oh and the banana bread latte hot/iced.”

“Hey Darling is a gorgeous little coffee stop with incredible toasted sandwiches — packed with flavour, lifted by sensational pickles and that addictive hot‑honey drizzle. The Banana Bread Latte and French Toast Latte are standouts and already have me planning my next visit. The staff are genuinely lovely, bubbly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. A brilliant spot — 5⭐.”

“Food influencers are promoting this place selling you a toastie for £10 and £1.5 for pickles straight off a potato peeler served by two grumpy women that took 15 mins. Garage down the road better customer service and better price for a quick lunch.”

“Wow oh wow. I tried here for the first time yesterday. I got the ham and cheese toastie absolutely mouthwatering. I could only eat half as I had an appointment but was contemplating being late for my appointment to finish it because it really is that good. Highly recommend and the girls are so lovely and helpful”
