Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often return to the breakfast, with a full fry praised as a proper home-style plate with no sourdough and a leaf on top, and poached eggs on sourdough with avocado and bacon also singled out. Close behind is the staff, described again and again as friendly and as going the extra mile, with the owner greeting a first-time visitor like a regular and sharing stories and old photos of Aunt Nellie. The coffee, an americano and the tea with free top-ups, and the teapots and tea cups draw repeated mention. Others name a chicken tikka sandwich and jam sponge with custard, and gluten free and vegetarian choices. Reviewers also point to reasonable prices, clean toilets, baby changing facilities and free parking, and one group of about eight was accommodated comfortably. The one caution comes from a reviewer who notes the cafe is cash only, with a bank machine in the shop next door. One diner finishes by saying they have already recommended it to others.

“Excellent food and service in this neighborhood cafe. Staff are very warm and welcoming, food is fantastic and the prices are very reasonable. My daughter had the poached eggs with bacon and avocado on toast and I had a chicken tikka sandwich followed by jam sponge and custard. Forget all the chain restaurants, this place deserves a visit from locals and visitors alike.”
