Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the tortellini and tortelloni, naming the prawn and crayfish version and a special with mushroom and truffle, with the miso-caramel steak close behind. Salmon, a tiger prawn curry, Lebanese lamb stew and stuffed chicken in a wine jus also get mentions. Puddings draw praise too, including gingerbread with custard, a lemon drizzle trifle, white chocolate tiramisu, biscoff bombalinos and a raspberry cheesecake. A ginger fizz cocktail from the specials is called one of the best a diner has tasted. Many describe a quirky, family run room with a Spotify playlist and artwork, and a small team that is friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and quick with recommendations. Several came for birthdays or an anniversary, and a party of seven reports no fault across three courses. No reviewer raises a complaint, though one notes the restaurant was full and suggests booking in advance. One diner's fiancée didn't want to drink water for fear of losing the taste of the steak.

“One of the best restaurants we’ve ever been to. We had the prawn and crayfish tortellini for starters, miso-steak for main and white chocolate tiramisu for desert. What an absolute treat, especially that steak! The flavours were mind-bogglingly good. All of the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive - Tim and Lilly also made our birthday celebration extra special. My fiancée said she didn’t want to drink the water because she didn’t want the taste to disappear. Need I say more!”

“Just got back from our fabulous evening meal at this 'must visit' restaurant where we were celebrating our Silver Wedding Anniversary. Starting with Carrot Tahini Filled Courgettes with a side of Date Chutney the amazing flavours perfectly complimented each other. One of our mains was Salmon and Black Pan Fried Prawns in a curried sauce was superb as was my own South African inspired stuffed chicken in a rich wine jue. We really could have finished with any of the puddings off the menu but limited ourselves to the lemon drizzle trifle which was a rich combination of leamonchelo infused sponge, home made custard, blackberries and ice cream. It really was a triumph and a must visit. Remember to book in advance as it was full on our visit”

“The food was absolutely perfect! Perfectly prepared, perfectly presented and perfectly enjoyed! The prawn and crayfish tortelloni was delightful and salmon was so nicely done!! I questioned whether the 4.9 stars could be real but they absolutely deserve the rating!!! The staff were attentive and knowledgeable. I cannot rate this any higher!!! I meant to get photos before but I inhaled my food so you can only see a plate licked clean!”

“This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. We visited on the last night of a trip to the Lakes to celebrate a birthday, and it lived up to all of the reviews. Each dish was put together with so much care and the flavours were delicious.”
