Quick info
About Victors Hale
Victors Hale is a restaurant in Altrincham at 169 Ashley Rd, where cocktails are served under the wisteria in a dining room with a flowered ceiling. The menu is halal and Asian-inspired, with sushi alongside pasta dishes such as seafood linguine. The bar works from a cocktail list and will make off-menu drinks such as a bloody Mary. Afternoon tea comes with a salmon sandwich and a chocolate lollipop, and the Sunday roast has a vegan version. Reservations are required, and a door steward greets arriving guests with a booking and seats them. For celebrations, the team brings out sparklers and birthday desserts.

Customer Review Summary
Afternoon tea draws the warmest praise, with reviewers singling out the salmon sandwich, a chocolate lollipop and sparklers on the sweets, and a Mother's Day tea where staff couldn't do enough. Close behind are the sticky toffee pudding, the lemon cheesecake and a vegan Sunday roast, along with cocktails and sushi that a couple of diners call surprisingly good. Birthday surprises, including a dessert with mini fireworks, come up repeatedly, and several reviewers praise welcoming staff and the flowered ceiling decor. Service is the recurring complaint. One diner felt pestered by servers who interrupted conversation and twice asked whether the food was finished on a quiet Tuesday. Another reported spilled wine, a cap thrown on the floor and no one asking about the food. Two raised a discretionary service charge they hadn't noticed on the bill. The 50% off deal drew mixed reactions: one reviewer said half a pasta dish was missing, another found some dishes and a drink unavailable on arrival, and a third called the seafood linguine sauce store bought tasting. One complaint ended with a complimentary bowl of olives as an apology for a late dish.

“Had a great experience at Hale. The staff were helpful and welcoming and the ambiance was really pretty. We ordered various sides which were all very well made and fresh and the sushi was surprisingly really good too. The only dish which I wasn’t a fan of and thought was quite poor to be honest was the seafood linguine, I expected the sauce to be richer and more elevated but unfortunately the sauce tasted like it came from a store bought pasta sauce.”

“Victors of HELL! Been going to Victors in Newcastle for years and love it! Tried the one in Hale with 50% off. Well it looks they didnt serve me half of my pasta so i actually paid full price! They told me nothing was missing on my place! Sushis were good though. Service wasnt great - wine spilled, cap thrown on the floor. Waiter didnt want to be there. No one asked us once how we found the food! Had an extra £25 off which I let expired as it wasnt worth the money! Such a shame”

“Excellent service from start to finish. Service , staff and food and attention to detail and atmosphere you couldn’t ask for more. Scarlett served us with our food, she was adorable and so friendly and asked if we were ok throughout our visit. We were greeted at the door by a door steward who opened the door for us which I thought was a lovely touch. The gentleman inside greeted us with our table booking and seated us at our table which was fabulous so we could see everyone around the restaurant. The two plates we ordered were delicious and two cocktails were lush. Everything was just perfect the background music , the decor flowered ceiling and decor surrounding was so nice too. Look forward to seeing you soon and thank you for such a lovely experience. Warm regards Joanne X.”

“I had the most wonderful afternoon tea at Victor’s Hale while catching up with a friend. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt glamorous, welcoming and like a real treat. The food was absolutely amazing. Every detail was beautifully presented, and there were so many lovely touches that made it feel extra special. The salmon sandwich was a particular favourite, and the sweet treats were incredible — especially the chocolate lollipop and the fun addition of sparklers, which made the experience feel memorable and unique. A huge thank you to Valaria, who looked after us so well. She was warm, welcoming and incredibly attentive throughout the afternoon, making sure everything was perfect without ever being intrusive. Her service really added to the experience. It was the perfect place for a relaxed catch-up with a friend, with delicious food, a beautiful setting and exceptional service. I would highly recommend Victor’s Hale for anyone looking for a special afternoon out — I can’t wait to return!”

“Got an email to give me a £25 birthday voucher and I noticed that that they also had a midweek deal offer for everyone of 50% off . I emailed Victors to ask if I could get this offer as well but I understand that I couldn’t have them both but it was the deliberate refusal to respond to my request that hurts the most as we travelled 20 miles and if we had a response we probably would have cancelled. When we arrived we were told that some meals were unavailable and when I close my drink was told not available any more and changed for Guinness 🙈Service was poor , won’t be back especially as I gave a large tip and wasn’t told they had added a £12.50 service charge on already but hadn’t noticed”
