  “The staff at Unagi elevate the experience. From the greeting smile from the manager and everyone I interacted with. The barman super efficient and friendly and Nadia taking the time to explain the menu, offer advice and always attentive and smiling. The food presentation is fantastic. So appealing and such care taken and the flavours are fabulous. The Yakisoba came piping hot and fresh from the wok. There was a gentleman preparing and plating some nigiri (whilst using a blow torch which I’d never seen before). The pride and care that he has in work was plain to see. This attitude seems to be with each team member at Unagi. Don’t lose it - we notice it and we love it! Thank you to everyone in the kitchen. I had a glass of Sapporo beer and a glass of Pinot Grigio with my meal. I had a lovely experience and would recommend that you visit .”

  “On our way to the Ice Hockey in Altrincham we called here for late lunch and took advantage of the winter offer of noodles / udon for £10… Plus raw fish tacos to share. The place is spotlessly clean, tables positioned in a way to give space and a view of the hustle and bustle of the comings and goings of happy guests. The two guys on service were great, friendly, knowledgeable and understood we had somewhere to go - perfect! The food and drinks arrived quickly and with aplomb, tacos were delicious and the udon noodles hot, tasty and deeply satisfying. No room or time pud but we will deffo be back. Thanks team Lovely”

  “We were booked in last night for our valentines date as we were in the area. The sushi is incredible, not only delicious and fresh but presented beautifully and clearly made with high skill! Our starters were amazing too! Friendly atmosphere and lovely staff, definitely worth the trip!”

  “Nice Japanese restaurant with the usual options you would expect at a Japanese eatery. Selection of sushi, ramen, noodles and katsu curry. We really enjoyed the crispy chilli squid with spicy mayo as a starter. The mains could have been better, but still quite enjoyable- we had udon noodles and Pork ramen. Noodles need more flavour really and ramen could have been less salty. However, the servers were attentive and the atmosphere was lovely. I would also return to try more items from the menu. Would be 4.5 stars if there was an option for that, but 5 over all and 4 stars for the food.”

  “We had a great time here Christina served us and was top drawer. The barman was responsive and attentive. Th food we ordered was Sushi, Ramen washed down with Sapporo. Great spot, fast service and highly recommended.”

  “Today I celebrated my daughter’s 16th birthday and we chose this restaurant in the heart of Altrincham town centre. The atmosphere was very friendly and the reddish colour ambient made it cosy and warm on a cold winters night. The staff greeted us with a kind smile and was attentive by occasionally asking us if there was anything we needed. For starters, we ordered the Salt and Pepper Crispy Squid. The aroma was very strong when it arrived on the table. The squid was really crispy and not oily and the taste didn’t disappointed us either. For the mains, we had Tofu Katsu and Chicken Yakisoba. The Tofu Katsu was served with the curry on the side. The rice was cooked nicely, not too soft and not too hard. The curry wasn’t too spicy, so everyone enjoyed it. Moving onto the Chicken Yakisoba, the sauce used to cook the noodles was really delicious and not too oily. The main attraction was the 40 pcs Omakase. The food was extremely fresh especially the sashimi and couldn’t fault the taste. The chef made the number “16” from the sushi pieces for my daughter, which gave her a memorable surprise. When we counted the number of sushi pieces, there were over 50 pieces, so I’m not sure if it was the birthday but we are very thankful for the chef, giving us this wonderful treat. I think this is one of the best sushi places in Manchester.”
