  “Went here whilst on a walk mid week. Was tasty and reasonable price. Seating on bench’s outside which was ideal as we had the dogs with us. Food was cooked fresh, took a little longer to get served but not an issue for fresh food. It was also fairly busy mid week and seemed a popular store”

  “Went to the Dolphin Chipper at Hazelhead this evening ordered a mince and steak pie suppers, I was first in, asked for beeper which ended up didn’t work, went in to see if order was ready after about 10mins to be told that the steak pie wasn’t ready as either someone else got it or they forgot to put it in the fryer . at least 8 people got served after me and got their order, eventually I got my order after about 30mins, not much of an apology the pies fell apart when tried to pick it up, they did say see you again and I said I don’t think so, It was our chipper to go to. So will be looking for another Chipper.The service was very very poor, I got the impression that they didn’t work well together and was to busy chatting amongst them selves.”

  “I come to dolphin on a regular basis but tonight I ordered 2 portions of scampi .. no chips.. but even my cat wouldn’t eat it ! So will be back for my Jumbo Haddock soon !”

  “Honestly the food is good and fresh but the service is slow - 25 minute wait for a fish supper - it was clear that online orders were priority and customers in the shop left waiting and forgotten. Also yes I agree with previous reviews, run by very young/teenagers no adult in sight - worrying”

  “Asked to get fresh cooked chicken breast in batter, waited nearly an hour for delivery. Meals were definitely not fresh cooked, chicken was very dry and not covered in batter properly and chips were cold. Very disappointed.”

  “The double cheeseburger was outstanding especially from a chipper the fish and chips was outstanding as well, the white pudding was lovely says my nana and the steak pie filled with meat was amazing and the chicken breast OMG loved it will be back as soon as I can visiting from Dubai great taste of the Scottish chipper.”

  “Only person in the shop and it still takes 15 minutes for one fish supper. I thought it would be quicker than it usually is, but no! Incredible. However, the food is great and the place is very clean.”

  “Along with other things I ordered a cheese burger and asked for onions on it to be told the only onions they do are pickled onion so that is disappointment number one so after receiving my order I went home to have my cheeseburger and hello disappointment number two the chips were nice but so so disappointed with cheeseburger all I got was a cold bun a really thin burger and slice of cheese no salad or sauce nothing . So guess who won’t be going there again , so disappointed been here before and everything was lovely but that’s what happens when youngsters are left unsupervised l”

  “Chips where ok but portion size was abysmal sausage with chips and mushy pease for just under £10 I’d expect to pay this at festival not at a brick shed next to an estate. Asked the girl serving for the rest of my chips and was looked at gone out.”
