  “Spent a few days in York and went to some high end restaurants. My visit to Lucia far exceeded my expectation. I was luck enough to coincidentally visit on Tuesday where a 3 course offer was in that saved me over 50 pounds. Mixed seafood linguine for me, my partner had the Lobster ravioli mains. 1st Class food and service. Highly recommended to visit this Italian that has been established 18 years where the food and service was well proven and without fault”

  “A lovely meal enjoyed here with family. We had no booking but were quickly found a table for lunch. I would recommend booking if you plan to go in the evning as I can imagine this place gets busy. I had a carbonara which was delicious, my mum and partner had the pork belly(which I also tried and was very tasty too) my dad had pepperoni pizza(the cheese pull was something of dreams, how a pizza should be) and my sister had the pasta bolognese. My sister is gluten intolerant and the waitress kindly talked her through the menu and what was available for her. I would have liked to had tried the cocktails but as it was mid day opted for non alcoholic drinks, we did see other tables with cocktails and they looked amazing. Highly recommend a visit here the food, service and decor was lovely. 👌”

  “Really disappointing experience at Lucia’s. We went for my friend’s birthday and unfortunately the food and service completely let the evening down. I ordered a pasta dish that clearly stated it came with a chicken breast. When it arrived, there was literally one small piece of chicken in the entire dish. My friend had ordered the exact same dish and had the same issue. When I showed the waiter and asked for more chicken, rather than acknowledging the obvious lack of chicken, he insisted that it was “shredded chicken” and seemed extremely reluctant to do anything about it. I found this particularly frustrating when it was clear from looking at the dish that there was barely any chicken in it at all. For the price you pay, this is simply not acceptable. If a dish is advertised as coming with a chicken breast, I expect to actually receive a reasonable portion of chicken — not one piece hidden amongst the pasta. It’s a shame because the restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere and a great vibe, but good decor doesn’t make up for poor food and disappointing service. Unfortunately, after this experience, we definitely won’t be returning.”

  “We had a lovely time for our anniversary meal over the weekend. Staff were very attentive and helpful, the cocktails were amazing, and the food was incredible. They have a great vegan menu which has plenty of options unlike many places, alot of thought goes into the food. Highly recommend!”

  “Wow. What an amazing experience we had! Service was lovely from all of the staff who served us, especially Lucia who managed our table. The decor and ambience was beautiful, and the food was absolutely divine. The mussels in garlic sauce was to die for, the malfadine con funghi was so tasty I couldn't believe how much flavour was eked out of every mushroom. And the tiramisu...oh my days. Tiramisu is my favourite dessert but so often at restaurants it's underwhelming, un-generous or inauthentic. Hats off to the chef, becuse that was the greatest tiramisu I have ever had. It was perfection. So good I forgot to take a photo until half way through as you can see from the photo. Not often does food make me emotional, but I teared up with every bite. It was the Nessun Dorma of tiramisu. In the words of Julia child, "it was a dessert to cry over!" I live for food so good. 10/10”

  “Great looking restaurant, and great pasta! They have a wide range of everything. The allergen menu is only available online, but we had no signal (generally the case throughout York) and they have disabled their guest WiFi even though it's listed as available connections; they suggested to use the city free WiFi which was also not coming up as an option in this location. Just didn't seem ideal for someone with many allergies. They also point blank do not serve desserts to anyone with allergens as a precaution, which is fair enough, though we didn't know that and had ordered desserts and were waiting a long time for them to come without that clarification.”
