  “We had our wedding celebration party at Revolution York following our register office ceremony, and we couldn’t have chosen a better venue. We were recommended Revolution by a friend and made an enquiry online — from the very first communication, the staff were incredibly helpful, informative, and friendly. After viewing the private hire room upstairs, with its beautiful views over the river and modern open space, we knew it was the perfect spot for a relaxed and informal wedding reception. Revolution were so accommodating throughout the whole process. Stacey and the evening manager (I’m so sorry I can’t recall his name!), Melissa from the hospitality management team, and all the staff were absolutely brilliant. Stacey went above and beyond by helping set up some of our small décor pieces and even surprised us with personalised welcome posters and drink menus for our guests. The welcome drinks were displayed beautifully and went down a treat. The buffet food was delicious, so many guests commented on how much they enjoyed it. Everything was clearly labelled for dietary requirements, and a special gluten‑free platter was prepared for our coeliac guest, which was hugely appreciated. Fresh water was even provided for my dog (yes, it’s dog friendly!), and the managers regularly checked in with me about the food, music, room temperature, and anything else we might need. Their kindness and attention to detail meant I could fully relax and enjoy the day without worrying about a thing. I would 100% recommend Revolution York as a wedding reception venue if you’re looking for a relaxed, fun vibe without the fuss of a huge traditional wedding. I’m sure it would also be great for a party or corporate event. If I were to do it all again, I wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you so much to the whole team for making our day so special.”

He explained each cocktail clearly, shared some great tips and tricks, and made sure everyone felt involved, regardless of their experience level! Would definitely recommend ☺️”

  “Sat on the beautiful patio overlooking the river in beautiful weather - perfect suntrap. Great happy hour as well. Even more so, Thurlow is such a sweetheart and was so helpful when there was an ordering mishap and our food took forever to come out! Was the nicest and gave us a round on the house. Overall absolutely lovely and would totally come back!”

  “Overpriced food and drink Food took forever to arrive and when it did it wasn't brillaint and some meals were cold. The plates looked loney. Nothing that a little bit of salad or coleslaw couldn't sort. There are much better and cheaper places to eat IMO”

  “I honestly cannot recommend the afternoon tea at Revolution Bar. It was genuinely one of the worst I’ve had. The whole thing felt like a beige banquet – bland, uninspiring and clearly very low quality. The sandwiches were dry and basic, the sweet items tasted cheap, and nothing felt fresh or well made. It looked like something thrown together with supermarket ingredients rather than something you’d expect when paying for afternoon tea. The service didn’t help either. The staff seemed very inexperienced and disorganised. We weren’t given basic things like knife and forks, and had to keep asking for simple items that should already have been on the table. Considering the price, it was very poor value for money. There are far better places offering proper afternoon tea with quality food and attentive service. Unfortunately this was style over substance. I wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend it.”
