About Valhalla York
Valhalla York is a Viking themed pub on Patrick Pool serving ales and mead alongside meat, cheese and fish boards. The pub spans three floors, with the All Fathers Hall occupying the top level and additional seating upstairs from the ground floor. A mead platter anchors the food side, pairing sausages, halloumi fries, meatballs, chicken wings and ribs with fries and coleslaw, and the drinks list runs beer on tap next to a dedicated mead selection. The menu covers 52 dishes in total. A private dining room suits groups, and a quiz night runs as a regular fixture. Outdoor seating is available for those who want to eat outside, and dogs are welcome inside. Free Wi-Fi is on offer for anyone working or browsing over a drink. The pub takes walk-ins rather than bookings and opens daily. Viking-themed decor and artwork run throughout the space across all three floors.

Several single out the chicken wings as standouts and the Valhalla Pale Ale as a favorite starter alongside the "Ragnaroc feast" platter. Close behind the drinks and food, reviewers consistently describe the atmosphere itself as a draw, citing the multi-floor building, Viking artwork, rock music and friendly staff who talk customers through the beer and mead selection. “We tried the mead platter, which was unique. It's like a honey flavoured wine. To accompany our mead was a selection of tapas-style dishes. The side of fries was super filling and delicious 🤤 definitely recommend the sausages, halloumi fries, and meatballs. Great comfort food, excellent atmosphere. There's more seating upstairs. …”
