Customer Review Summary
The carvery draws the most praise, with one reviewer calling the Sunday veggie version delicious and listing onion gravy, three kinds of potatoes, parsnips, red cabbage and sage and onion stuffing alongside Yorkshire puddings. Close behind are the burger, breakfast and hot puddings, which reviewers describe as enjoyable and served hot, with food arriving quickly even on busy days. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, welcoming and good at finding tables for large groups, and the busy atmosphere is read by several as a good sign. The one downside raised on price is that roasts cost noticeably more at weekends. Two reviews are sharply negative. One diner describes a Christmas dinner where a main took nearly an hour to arrive after three requests, a steak pie had no meat inside and the vegetables were hard, ending in an apology and a gift card refund. Another reviewer with coeliac disease reports that gluten free gravy was never ordered and that staff treated the allergy as a joke. Elsewhere, a birthday group had a reserved window table, and a garlic bread that was overcooked was promptly sorted out.

“It was fairly busy when we went to pear tree farm but that's good because if it wasn't then that could mean it wasn't very good. We had already booked a table so we didn't have to wait. We got shown to our table and the kind lady said that as soon as we were ready she would send someone to come and take our order, unless if we were having a carvery then we could just join the queue whenever we were ready. She then asked if we would like any drinks, which we did and she took our order. A young gentleman brought our drinks and then asked if we were ready to order we were so he took our order there were six of us so we had six different meals. Our order came within about half an hour. The food was hot, not too much or not too little, everyone enjoyed there meals and some of us had just enough room left for a dessert. My daughter went up to the counter and ordered our desserts, we waited about 20mins to half an hour, which was understandable as they were really busy, our desserts came and those who had a hot pudding were pleasantly surprised on how hot they were, we ate our desserts finished our drinks and left ,feeling content and happy. We have been before, it's always busy,we have never had a bad meal and there's always plenty of good atmosphere, the staff are run off there feet but they still manage a smile and a little bit of conversation when they can. All in all a very good night.”

“Had a birthday meal in June 2026, for my aunty. We all had a lovely time , welcomed by the manager Sam, We requested a window table which was reserved for us. All our food was exceptional from the carvery to Menu choices. We took a cake and all sang Happy Birthday. Felt really special. Thank you Sam and all the staff. Went for a burger this week, was very good. We will be back!”

“Hear ye, good folk of the realm! Upon mine travels I didst seek respite at the noble hall known as Pear Tree Farm, where I was greeted with cheer most hearty and victuals of the finest quality. The feast set before me was abundant, well-seasoned, and prepared with the skill of a master cook. Verily, not a crumb remained upon mine platter, so excellent was the fare. Yet greater still was the courtesy shown by the good servants of this establishment. Their kindness and diligence brought honour unto the house, and every guest was treated as though they were of noble birth. Special praise must be bestowed upon the fair Megan, whose gracious manner, swift service, and merry spirit did elevate the occasion beyond measure. A truer steward of hospitality would be difficult to find in all the kingdom. Should thy travels lead thee near Pear Tree Farm, tarry not, for thou shalt find there a feast worthy of kings, service befitting queens, and a welcome warmer than the hearth upon a winter's eve. By my word, I grant this noble establishment five shining stars and commend it unto all who seek good cheer and a full belly. God save the cook, and long may Megan bring merriment unto weary travellers!”

“A great carvery. We called on a Sunday and had a veggie carvery and it was delicious, much better than a Toby carvery. Which, onion gravy, cauliflower, broccoli, three varieties of potatoes including very good toasties, perfectly cooked parsnips, red cabbage and sage and onion stuffing along with Yorkshire puddings. This is the second time in two weeks that we have visited a farmhouse inns pub and have been impressed with both the food and service. The only downside is that it seems a lot more expensive to have a roast on a Saturday or Sunday.”
