About La Casita

La Casita is a tapas restaurant in Wolverhampton, found in an alley between Waterstones and Mander Centre, with its address on Farmers Fold St. Guests bring their own alcohol for a small corkage fee, while the restaurant's own drinks are non-alcoholic, including an alcohol-free sangria. The menu is Spanish tapas, usually with a few specials added. Croquetas come with roasted red pepper and onion, or with chorizo, and the chorizo and garlic bread is another dish to order alongside. The interior is small. The owner is present and serves guests personally.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers come for the Spanish tapas, with the albondigas in rich tomato sauce singled out as one diner's favourite of the day. Mojo chicken with homemade fries, croquetas de pimentos y cebolla, papas arrugadas, prawns, chorizo and garlic bread all draw praise, and several call the food fresh, well cooked and delicious, with a good choice and a few specials. Close behind is the welcome: the owner is repeatedly described as friendly and personal, including with a five year old. Several mention return visits, some on their fourth. The alcohol free sangria and a caramel flat white that was not bitter get favourable mentions, and desserts are called yummy. The one recurring gap is the drinks menu. It is non alcoholic, so diners bring their own wine for a small corkage fee, and one reviewer said it was the only box left unticked. One table was given free gazpacho to try after a badminton game.

“Sadly we were the only ones using the restaurant at the time. Staff were friendly and welcoming. All meals served were delicious to taste, visually appealing and good sized portions. The meals were freshly cooked and served hot. The menu offers a good variety to choose from. Desserts were yummy. We will be revisiting.”

“We had a really lovely evening! The owner really makes an effort to ensure a personal level of service. Every dish was delicious - prawns outstanding. We took our own wine, had nibbles, fish course, mains and dessert all for £25 pp. My daughter was home from London & was amazed! We’ll be back”

“Absolutely excellent - easily some of the best food I’ve had in the city. We tried the alcohol free sangria which was excellent, and I had the chorizo and the garlic bread, which were both fabulous. The owner was so friendly and we felt so welcomed - we were also given gazpacho to try free of charge too (to help get our energy up after our badminton game, very kind), which was absolutely great. Overall such a great spot and I will be coming back with friends! Highly recommend for both lunch and dinner. :)”
