Quick info
About Chopstix - Wolverhampton
Chopstix - Wolverhampton is a pan-asian restaurant at 30 Dudley St in Wolverhampton, where orders are placed at screens rather than at a counter. Food is served in boxes, in a large or a medium size, with rice filling much of the box and chicken layered on top. Katsu chicken is on the menu and comes with katsu sauce, and other sauces are served alongside. Spring rolls are also available. Leftover food is sold as box meals through the Too Good To Go app, so surplus portions go to customers instead of being thrown away. Fortune cookies come with orders.

Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers come away praising the staff, describing them as friendly and lovely, with servers who were patient, gave their own dish recommendations and handed over a free portion of spring rolls. Food gets credit as flavourful and fresh, with plenty of sauce, and one reviewer calls the inside beautiful. Close behind is a recurring complaint about portion size. One reviewer found the large box mostly rice under a single small layer of chicken and left still hungry, another said the box barely filled up at the screen-ordering counter, and a Too Good To Go customer says the boxes shrank while the price rose and the contents repeat almost every time. Delivery draws criticism too. One order of three boxes arrived as one with no number to call, and an Uber Eats katsu chicken came as two small, dry pieces with clumped rice and barely any katsu sauce, plus a fortune cookie that was only a photo-tagging promotion.

“This is aimed at their to good to go service. We've been grabbing them on and off regularly when they pop up. It started of being 2 medium box meals for £5. They've put the price up to £6 now, that wouldn't be a problem, but in doing so they've shrunk the boxes down to what can only be explained as kids boxes. So, not only have they put the price up but they've shrunk what you get. Now, it is to good to go, so the contents isn't the issue. All though, it's 90% the same stuff every time you order, which makes me believe even when other stuff is left over. It isn't provided to the to good to go customers, who knows where it goes. You could argue that it's all that was left over, but that wasn't the case as it's quite clear to you what's left over as it's in the counter, probably already minus some other bits that have been moved off the counter before to good to go customers arrive. It says on the app that £15 worth of left over food MINIMUM is provided for your £6 charge. I think anyone can make their own minds up via the picture if this is £15 worth or not...it's probably worth the £6 I spent. So, the app is being falsely used. It might be because your staff turn around is so high, as it's all ways someone different when collecting, so I'm not entirely sure the staff know exactly what they're meant to be doing. But I wouldn't be using the service again if you continue using the app in a dishonest manner. By this I mean saying you'll be providing a MINIMUM of £15 worth of left over food, but giving very MINIMAL amount instead all while putting the price up. When, there was clearly alot more left over.”

“Ordered from here on Uber eats, katsu chicken only came with 2 small pieces of chicken which were still PINK & RAW inside, barely any katsu sauce. The chicken was also incredibly dry on the outside. Rice was overdone & clumped together. Lastly I ordered 2 fortune cookies for myself & my partner which one of them was just a ‘share a photo of your order & tag us’ just to shout out their business. Very disappointed, won’t be ordering again. Avoid!”

“The service was 10/10, especially from the server named Kam. He was patient, advised on the best dishes and gave me a healthy portion. Cris, Tayaba and Jess were also a tremendous help, they also assisted with their own personal recommendations. Offered brilliant customer service and made me feel like part of the team. I 100% recommend this establishment.”
