About Istanbul Restaurant
Istanbul Restaurant is a Turkish restaurant at Herian House in Wolverhampton, built around charcoal kebabs. The mixed kebab arrives as a large shared platter for a family to split, and the kitchen also serves a combo shish for those who want to order a set selection. Chicken wings come with herb rice, and meals are accompanied by bread and fresh salad. Main dishes are generous in size, so one platter goes a long way across a table. Several car parks sit right next to the restaurant for those arriving by car.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the huge portions, with the mixed kebab shared among a family of five and the combo shish platters named as favourites. Close behind are the chicken wings with herb rice, described as juicy and tender, plus fresh salad, bread and Turkish tea. Food is repeatedly called delicious and fresh, and staff are widely called friendly and attentive, with several praising waiters and a server who explained the menu. Value draws mixed views: some call it reasonably priced for the portions, while one says a family of five gets little change for the bill and finds the room dated for the price. The sharpest complaint is a decline in service, with one longtime customer describing rushed starters, barely warm bread and staff who seem less welcoming than before. Another notes a bathroom without electricity, hand dryer or tissues during redecorating. One diner was brought tea on the house.

“Stopped by with my family while passing through and we’re so glad we did! There were five of us and we ordered the mixed kebab to share. The portions were absolutely huge – even the five of us couldn’t finish it all! Everything was fresh and really delicious. The staff were lovely, very friendly and attentive, and made us feel really welcome. Would definitely come back if I’m ever in the area again. If I could give 10 stars, I would! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“My first experience with Turkish cuisine and I was pleasantly surprised by the food. Delicious big portions and reasonably priced. If you looking for something different you won't be disappointed... Well, I certainly wasn't. Friendly staff, and there are many car parks right next to the restaurant. If you feel adventurous, it's highly recommended.”

“Me and my family came to eat here and wow the food was amazing. Kind service but also waitress was very shy and stared at us for a few seconds before processing what we wanted. The bathroom had no electricity and no hand dryer or tissues to substitute. They explained that re decorating was being done and service had to continue.”

“Not quite as good as it used to be if im honest, the restaurant itself is really starting to feel dated and poor, considering the price levels, i expect more. Howevter the staff are still great, food portions are huge in the main, but quality isnt as good as it used to be. a family of 5 wont get much change from £100, which i feel is too high for the area.”
