About 3 Hammers Bar & Bistro Ltd
3 Hammers Bar & Bistro Ltd is a bar and grill in Wolverhampton, on Old Stafford Road within the Three Hammers Golf Complex, and it is open to members and non-members alike. Every dish on the menu has a gluten free alternative, from fish and chips to the mixed grill. Gluten free skin-on fries, mash, new potatoes or a jacket potato are available with all dishes, so guests avoiding gluten can order across the whole menu. A vegan soup is on offer for plant-based diners. The restaurant area sits beside a separate bar, and a conservatory takes celebrations and large party bookings for groups. Steak and curry evenings run alongside a Sunday roast and afternoon tea. The bistro is open daily, and Jurassic Creek adventure golf has been added on the same site.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the food, with sweet and sour chicken named in more than one review, alongside a rib-eye steak cooked beautifully, a pork dish, and a Mediterranean tart with vegetable soup. The gluten free menu earns approval, covering fish and chips, garlic mushrooms with a gluten free roll, mixed grill and sirloin. Several describe a warm welcome and friendly staff. Service is not uniform, though. One reviewer describes being ignored, asked about a reservation and sent to the bar while an elderly couple was greeted. Another reports a staff member making rude gestures in the car park, so they left before a child's golf session. A lunch diner says a funeral wake spilled from the conservatory around the tables. Others mention very hot dishes, a tasteless side salad, a busy car park, and a sundae with more sauce on the saucer than on the dessert. One birthday booking found a card on the table and a voucher for a free bottle of wine.

“As soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and shown immediately to our seats. Throughout our visit we were looked after by the staff and they made sure that we had everything that we needed and were happy with what we had. The food as always was very good and the atmosphere was warm and relaxing. We all enjoyed the experience immensely and look forward to returning. THANK YOU! 👏”

“We had a really good family meal here. Food was excellent and well priced. Service was really good as well. We went for Saturday lunch time, the Bistro wasn't over full however the car park was very busy but we did get a place.”

“It’s pretty good. Good enough food and plenty of space between tables. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare but worth going. Only thing I would say is that the sundae was not quite what I expected, with more sauce on the saucer than on the thing. Tasted good though, but not a sundae.”

“The worst experience i have ever had. We had just arrived (Sunday 28th June at approximately between 10am - 10.30am) and pulled into the car park when we witnessed something that completely shocked us. A member of staff, easily identifiable by their orange shorts and black top with "Staff" written on it, was making repeated rude and offensive hand gestures towards a driver who was simply trying to navigate out of a very tight parking space. The behaviour was completely unnecessary, unprofessional, and unacceptable. My child, who had come for a kids' golf taster session, also witnessed this and even asked about the gesture, thinking the staff member was pretending to rub a horn on their head. As a parent, it's disappointing to have to explain inappropriate behaviour that children should never be exposed to, especially from someone whose representing a venue that works with young kids. This was our first visit, and unfortunately it will also be our last. If someone is comfortable behaving like this in full view of the public and children, it raises serious concerns about the standards and professionalism of the establishment. Staff who interact with families and children should set a positive example, not display aggressive or insulting behaviour. I left feeling genuinely disappointed and shocked. We were so put off by what we witnessed that we didn't even go into the establishment for our child's golf taster session and left immediately. That first impression alone was enough for us to decide we would not be returning. I hope management takes this matter seriously and reminds staff that they represent their business at all times, including in the car park.”

“Humiliated is the word ! Played a round of golf and wanted some food so walked into the bar. Was not greeted or anything so didn’t know if we could just walk into the restaurant area or had to make a reservation. No one even acknowledged me and my partner so we walked through and sat down. 2 minutes later… death stares from the staff but no one still approached us as they were just chatting to each other. My partner then went up to the bar to get a drink as we didn’t know what to do and sat back down at the table. One of the waitresses then rudely said ‘do you have a reservation’ (no hello or anything) and we said no. She then kicked us out and told us to go into the bar without asking if we wanted food. We sat at the bar and my partner said to me that all three of the waitresses were death staring me behind my back … never felt so uncomfortable! Worst part was, an elderly couple walked in with no reservation, they got a welcoming hello, were given menus and shown to a table.. Worst restaurant experience ever. If you want somewhere nice, go to the pub down the road as they are actually welcoming no matter your age or what you look like and you don’t get death stares !”
