About The Builders' Arms
On Derry Street in Wolverhampton, The Builders' Arms runs as a pub-style bar and grill with an Indian kitchen, pairing draught lagers such as Madri with a grill-led menu. The kitchen turns out kebabs, chicken wings and a recurring mixed grill that brings together lamb chops, butter chicken and lamb sharabi curry. A private dining room at the back handles groups looking to settle in for a longer meal. The counter takes walk-ins throughout the week, with the grill doing the bulk of the cooking.

Customer Review Summary
The Builders' Arms draws most of its praise for the mixed grill, repeatedly singled out for tender, smoky lamb chops and flavour-packed kebabs, with several reviewers pairing the meal with a cold Madri beer. Close behind, the butter chicken earns its own devoted following, described by one as "to die for" and by another as a clear recommendation, while the lamb sharabi curry is called possibly the best the reviewer has tasted. Service is repeatedly described as prompt, friendly, and efficient, and the room as relaxed and welcoming, framing the place in one reviewer's words as the best desi pub around. On the negative side, a small number of diners describe the curry as tasting like tomato soup or as the worst they have tried, calling it disgusting and saying they would not return, though these accounts sit against a far larger run of enthusiastic repeat visits.

“Never disappoints, good quality food at a good price. The mixed grill is great and the lamb sharabi is probably the best curry i think i’ve tasted!”
- James
“Probably the best mixed grill I’ve had in a long time! The lamb chops were incredibly tender and full of smoky flavor. kebabs were packed with flavor and the chicken wings were delicious with the right amount of smokiness. The portions were generous and every bite was better than the last. Paired with a cold Madri beer, it made for a fantastic meal.”
