  “After having a bad experience I rang up and spoke to the manager who was very apologetic and invited me to come back in and that I’d be more than welcome. I went back and it was a different manager who knew nothing about the situation and was equally as rude. So that’s two lots of petrol, two lots of time and money spent going to a place for two bad experiences! Ended up going to a lovely little pub round the corner which was wonderful and welcomed all of us.”

  “We have never stayed at the Albert so cannot comment but we have eaten and had several drinks over the years. Food is exceptional quality, their Sunday roasts are better than granny used to make and that is no exaggeration! All the food we have had here is top quality freshly made. Never had a bad meal. They have several theme nights like fishy Fridays, pie Wednesdays etc. All on top of their normal menu which is full of choice dishes.”

  “This is an exceptional pub in every way. On our 3rd visit today in 3 days while in the area. Can't fault the atmosphere, very friendly staff, great food and reasonable prices. Wish this was my local!”

  “Very enjoyable and friendly pub. We chose to take advantage of the Wednesday pie night offer, and did indeed enjoy the food here. Good quality, and restaurant quality. An added bonus was how friendly everyone was here, including other drinkers. Great pub, great location.”

  “Visited here several times over a couple of weeks. Great service, really good atmosphere and very comfortable. In or outside is always buzzing. Only ate once on our last night which was unfortunate because it was excellent. The starters were enormous! Had the quiz night pie deal which was delicious, great value. Quiz was very good. Highly recommend a visit.”

  “What a fantastic find! We visited The Albert Pub while staying in Bowness and couldn't have been happier with our experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a lovely balance of traditional pub charm and friendly service. The food was excellent and the portions were generous. The drinks selection was great too, with plenty of local ales and something for everyone. The staff were attentive and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our visit. We'll definitely be returning next time we're in the Lake District and wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Albert to anyone looking for great food, good drinks, and genuine hospitality in Bowness.”

  “Came as a family of 5 for tea. Sat downstairs as we have a dog and ordered our meals. Everyone had something different from the menu and all were delicious. Would definitely recommend and will return next time we’re up here.”

  “We came for Sunday lunch and although it was very busy, the team were more than accommodating with my wife and young daughter which we really appreciated. The Sunday lunch was absolutely sublime – plenty of beautifully cooked pink beef with lashings of rich gravy. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavour. My young daughter had the children’s fish and chips, which was a beautifully sized piece of fish with lovely crispy battered coating rare for a child’s meal. The serving staff were brilliant, friendly and attentive despite how busy it was. We’ll definitely be back!”

  “Nice pub was very busy when we went in but managed to find a table in the back room. It was nice although it felt like a lot of tables for the size of the room. The roast dinners looked amazing and the food we had was good. Portion sizes were very good to. Service was good. Dogs are allowed in on the ground floor only.”
