About Royal Oak
Royal Oak is a pub and restaurant on Church St in Ambleside, in the Lake District and next to accommodations. The kitchen works from a Greene King menu and adds Hungarian-style goulash alongside the standard pub dishes. At the bar, cask ales come from local producers and from further afield, with Windermere Pale and Bowness IPA among those poured. Dogs are welcome inside, so guests who travel with a pet can bring it along while they eat and drink.

“Such a nice vibe here. Didn't have food, but saw it and it looked lovely. Great staff, Lewis was really nice and welcoming as soon as we came in”
- Kevin Galley
“Typical greene king food menu which is what we went in for...but actual food served up was very average quality. Bar staff when we were in acted as if it was 'just a job' ..... Not exactly engaging with customers ....Pub was still busy though. Perhaps we just picked a bad day.”
