About The Bucks Head Abram
On Warrington Rd in Wigan, The Bucks Head Abram is a pub that serves a carvery in small, medium or large portions, so diners can match the plate to their appetite. The carvery plate comes with roast meats, Yorkshire pudding and gravy, plus a choice of vegetables. Vegetarian gravy is made on request, and a full roast dinner can be served without the meat. The pub also has a beer garden with activities for children, which gives families something to do outside the dining room. Fish and chips and other pub grub sit on the menu alongside the roasts.

Customer Review Summary
The caveats are about the kitchen and the wait. One carvery diner found the broccoli washed-out and almost grey, the carrots and cabbage watery, the mash lumpy, and the meat dry. Two reviewers waited close to an hour or more for food. One got a baked potato meal when options ran short, and two of four dishes went uneaten. Another had a chicken curry delivered in place of the vegetarian one, then cold rice and inedible naan, and noted only two vegetarian dishes on the menu. One reviewer was given a discount by the manager.

“Me and my family come here every Sunday for a cavery and the food is always spot on. Chris and his team work really hard to deliver a proper home cooked roast and it never fails to impress. This is the best carvery you will find in the area for freshness and portion size. Keep up the good work it's a credit to the bucks head team.”
