Customer Review Summary

Diners most often return for the Sunday roast, with repeated praise for the roast beef, pork, and vegan Wellington as standout dishes. Several also single out the Friday BBQ plate and the brunch menu for their quality and presentation. The chef’s personal attention and the homemade taste of the food earn frequent mention, while the bar staff and service are described as friendly and accommodating. A recurring caveat is inconsistent service, with one reviewer noting a rude server and another describing slow, unwilling attention on a Friday night. One diner reports inedible food beyond the chips, and a few mention the kitchen closing earlier than expected. Several highlight the traditional interior and the good beer selection.

Highly recommend dropping in for a Sunday roast or BBQ plate on a Friday. The chef really knows what he’s doing. Everything I’ve had was home made and delicious. This is a rare find to have home cooked food. The bar staff are top notch here too-and the service is fantastic.

How this listing is sourced

Where the data comes from
Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
How it stays current
Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
How it is ranked
Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
