Quick info
About Marinella's
Marinella's serves Italian food on The Avenue in Leeds, with a specials board alongside the regular menu. Staff explain the dishes, specials, and the region each one comes from, and food is cooked to order by family. Garlic bread is offered as a starter, and the kitchen turns out fresh pasta dishes and lasagne. Home-made desserts round out the meal, available to take away as well as eat in, and coffee follows after the meal. The entrance is step-free for visitors with mobility needs, and high chairs are available for families with young children. Outdoor seating is set up for those who want to eat outside. It opens daily, and reservations are recommended. Street parking sits directly in front of the restaurant for those arriving by car.

Customer Review Summary
Fresh pasta dishes and the lasagne draw consistent praise, with several diners also citing the garlic bread starter shared among a table and home-made desserts taken to go when no room was left after generous mains. The owner is repeatedly credited with personally explaining the specials board and the provenance of each southern Italian dish while the family cooks it fresh to order, creating what multiple reviewers describe as an unrushed, relaxed vibe rather than a rushed turnover of tables. Portions and prices come up again and again as fair, with one group noting two mains, a side and two drinks for thirty five pounds, and another mentioning free extra meatballs added to their order. No recurring complaints appear across these visits. Several reviewers who came for a first visit say they plan to return for family celebrations, and more than one closes simply by saying they'll be back.

“First visit and couldn't fault a thing. A warm welcome from Marinella who explained all the foods and specials. We shared a garlic bread starter between 3 and there was plenty. Fresh pasta dishes were superb as was the lasagne. No room for dessert this time but a nice coffee. Great service, food and atmosphere means we will be back.”

“Marinella is lovely and the food is unbelievable. All made from scratch and cooked to perfection. Traditional recipes available as well as modern twists on classic dishes. Excellent service and a beautiful little restaurant in a quiet, peaceful area. Really fair prices as well. Two mains, a side and two drinks for 35 quid! We’ll definitely be returning.”

“If you can, please give it a try. Authentic Italian food. Everything made fresh and so very tasty. Definitely recommend looking at the specials board. Great filling portions. We ended up taking some home-made desserts to go, as we were too full after the starters and mains. Very friendly service.”
