About London Bridge Inn

London Bridge Inn is a canalside pub at 163 London Rd in Warrington, with a partly covered garden that overlooks the canal. The bar pours JW Lees cask ales, including Manchester Pale Ale and JW Lees Bitter, which carry the Cask Marque Excellence Award and sell over 1000 pints a week. Cocktails, spirits and world wines sit alongside the beer. On the food side, the Sunday roast comes with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and gravy, and a sharing platter adds beef, turkey and gammon. Chicken schnitzel and barge sausages are also on the menu. A private dining room gives groups a space of their own, and dogs are welcome. A car park sits at the back of the pub.

Customer Review Summary

Sunday roast is the draw at this canalside pub, with reviewers praising the roast turkey with Yorkshire pudding and as much gravy as wanted, and the Sunday roast sharing platters of beef, turkey and gammon with huge Yorkshire puddings. Close behind are the chicken schnitzel and the ham hock, both called superb, plus the sea bass, salmon and steak with fluffy chips. Many also like the canal-side garden and the friendly staff, and one group of ten was accommodated with extra Yorkshire puddings and gravy to take away. The caveats centre on food and value. One reviewer waited quite a while for food outside, found the belly pork sauce tasted like ketchup rather than barbecue, and called the creme brulee sloppy custard and the Manchester tart thinly filled with jam on the plate, both not worth the price. Another found the food pricey with smaller servings than other pubs, and noted the car park at the back fills quickly. Several regulars return for drinks, and one hosted a 90th birthday party there.

“Found this place by chance. Such a grwat location next to the canal. Food was superb (wife had the Ham Hock and I had the Chicken Schnitzel). Service couldn't be faulted, no issues with moving from outside to indoors after ordering. Great place.”

“Lovely pub situated at the side of the canal. Ate outside in the sun but quite a wait for our food. The Steak meal my husband said was lovely and gorgeous fluffy chips. The belly pork starter I had was nice but the sauce just tasted like ketchup not bbq. Desert was disappointing , the creme brulee was just sloppy custard and cost £7.95. Not worth it and the manchester tart had the raspberry jam on the plate and a thin scraping in the tart itself same price. But the roast looked nice !”

“The Bridge has long been our (almost) daily local when visiting family in the area from abroad. Whether just for drinks or a bite to eat we are always very pleased. This time we even hosted a 90th birthday party for my mother in law. Everything was wonderful. All the staff are lovely but a shout out to Alan this time as he served us most days. Thanks again, we will be back.”
  • Sonja Wilkinson
“Popped in for a few drinks and ended up staying much longer than planned! The atmosphere was great, really friendly and relaxed without feeling too busy especially in this warm weather. The staff were welcoming from the moment we arrived and couldn't do enough for us throughout the evening. Definitely will be returning!”
