Quick info
About Costello's Bar
In Times Square, Warrington, Costello's Bar pours cask ales from Dunham Massey brewery, with beers from Lymm brewery also on. Several cask ales are available at once, and a selection of other beers and spirits sits alongside the real ale. A northern soul night runs once a month, giving the bar a regular date for music fans, and live music features on the programme as well. A weekly cask discount event and a Midweek Club add further reasons to call in. Food is not served, so the focus stays on the drinks. The bar is at Unit 3, and dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come for the cask ale, with several pointing to the Dunham Massey beers on pour and a few mentioning a second local brewery, Lymm. One describes the ale as fresh and well kept, and another praises the range of real ale alongside the spirits. Close behind is the lively, busy atmosphere and friendly staff, with live music on most weekends and a Northern soul night on the last Friday of the month. Reviewers also note a traditional pub feel in a modern setting, and that no food is served. Outside seating comes up in one review. The main criticism is service. One reviewer describes a woman in glasses who seemed unwelcoming to a group of about 50 and made "shoot me now" gestures, while another found the female bartenders lovely but the male bartenders less so. Both of those reviewers still rated the rest of the staff or the atmosphere well. Reviews close on weekly deals such as a discount on cask ale on Hoppy Mondays and a reunion group enjoying the beer.

“Had a great time there. Plenty of excellent beer on, which suited the reunion of The Risley Apprentice Training Scheme, RATS for short.”

“Costellos is a lovely bar with welcoming staff. The Ale tastes fresh and well kept. There is live music on most weekends... and the last Friday of every month there is a Northern soul night, which is definitely worth checking out. All in all. A great bar with great staff.”

“Saturday 14th June 3pm Costellos bars are great but the lady in glasses in this one clearly doesn't like new customers......could do with a few tips from the Stockton Heath staff...maybe having a bad day because we brought about 50 people in to spend their money instead of somewhere else. Rest of the staff were great and didnt make shoot me now gestures.”

“Been in here a few times. The Atmosphere is great and the Female Bartenders are so lovely and welcoming , not so much the male. I will still be returning in the future”
