Quick info
About The Blue Bell
The Blue Bell is a pub in Warrington at 27 Horsemarket St, at the back of the Golden Square shopping centre and a short walk from the bus station. The kitchen cooks food fresh from breakfast onward, including a full breakfast of sausage, bacon, mushroom, fried egg, beans and tomatoes with fried bread and toast. Lunch brings fish and chips, and the menu also lists the Bell tower burger and pie and chips. The roast dinner won Warrington Guardian's Best Roast 2024, and the menu carries vegetarian and gluten free options. At the bar, the taps pour a range of beers and cask ale, with wines, spirits and cocktails alongside. Local bands play live sets that start at 9pm.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise freshly cooked, generous mains, singling out the pie and chips with its chunky chips and a huge bell tower burger. Close behind is the full breakfast of sausage, bacon, mushroom, fried egg, beans, tomatoes and fried bread, which one reviewer calls outstanding, and a Sunday roast described as beautifully cooked and full of flavour. Several describe friendly, attentive staff, including a server who offered a different table when disturbances arose. The complaints are fewer but specific. One longtime breakfast regular found prices higher and items missing compared with the menu shown online, and a barm that was close to stale and fell apart. That reviewer said the answer from staff was a meek "oh yeah". Another ordered the small fish and chips and received a fish smaller than a fish finger inside greasy, overcooked batter, with watery peas and a waiter who never looked up, though the chips were well cooked. A longtime regular mentions live bands on Saturdays at 9pm.

“If you look at the menus they are incorrect, they have just changed them and unfortunately taken things off them. We went for breakfast as it's usually our chosen place as the food is lovely and prices reasonable. We went in Wednesday 21st October and we were so disappointed to find that the prices have gone up full breakfast is now 15 quid and the items on toast that were a fiver no longer exist it's item on a barm for 7 quid pot of tea flfor one a fiver and a cappuccino a fiver it cost us just over 30 pound the bacon was still honking and had either hard fat or grisle in it along with grisle in the sausages never had a problem before, the barm was close to stale wouldn't hold anything on it just literally fell apart !! So disappointed we will not be returning was our favorite place for breakfast we will now find somewhere else, please change your menus on Google so not to trick people like you did us as we always look at menus before we visit so we already know what we want. We felt awkward just to walk out I did ask if they had changed the menu and was told meekly oh yeah and that was that , Terrible 😔 such a shame”

“Thomas made sure everything we needed was perfect he offered us a different table due to disturbances and was lovely throughout. We’ve noticed that he runs around doing everything he can to make the place run smoothly. Great guy thankyou”

“We had a meal here and would highly recommend. Our server Tom was fantastic - very helpful, attentive and professional. Food was fantastic all round and nice atmosphere, all for a reasonable price. 10/10”

“Ordered small fish and chips at lunchtime. Pub was almost empty, meal arrived quickly. Fish was smaller than a fish finger, hidden inside a huge, greasy overcooked batter. Peas were watery and hard. Chips were good, 4 huge slabs of well cooked potato. Service was poor, waiter never even looked at me and plonked the meal down and walked off.”
