  “Great food, but staff was over the top, could feel them hovering, taking plates soon as you were done but 3 times I had to say I wasn't finished, felt over baring. I think they were trying to be polite but it came across way too much.”

  “Overall was impressed! Staff are really friendly and attentive, plus the food is nice. We had the "chit-chats and chicken" sharing platter and it was nice, the chicken was of a good quality (on par with nandos) and the variety was refreshing (it came with jollof and rice n peas as well as other sides). Building is new and clean and the ambience was nice, and the price was very reasonable so can't complain at all. Sticking to 4 stars as 5 is exceptional and we aren't gonna push it thattt far but for a satisfying meal out its deffo worth it!”

  “Amazing food, amazing service very authentic tasting food…the staff was very helpful couldn’t do enough for us… our server was Kira she was kind, helpful and she was very welcoming…the girl behind the bar was lovely too but I didn’t catch her name….food was 10/10 will 100% be back and great food for value also thankyou”

  “Had a meal with my friends and it was lovely! Safa was lovely and gave really nice service to us all. The staff were really quick and welcomed each of us into the restaurant. I ordered a chicken wrap with chips on the side and it was delicious! I will definitely come again 💕”

  “We visited after the Eclipse event and were greeted by the friendly and bubbly Mimi. She was incredibly attentive and recommended some fantastic dishes for us. We loved the food, and the portions were very generous! We’d never heard of this place before, but we’re so glad we gave it a try. Thank you again, Mimi, for your wonderful hospitality. If we’re ever back in the area, we hope to see you again!”

  “I visited with a family of 7 including a few reluctant teenagers and we were treated like kings and queens so welcoming and professional and swiftly we were sat near the live kitchen, hats off to the chefs. The food was exceptional and the staff and manager so genuine we felt at home and easily relaxed into the seats. We had butterfly buns okra fingers and rice and chicken it was fresh healthy and genourous portions we polished our plates the youngsters tried okra fingers and were impressed. thank you so much we had a lovely memorable evening and chatted to chat averse teenagers (our children not the staff who were amazing) thank you Afrinkana Walsall god bless you all Rachel”

  “I always have a lovely experience at Afrikana whenever I visit. The atmosphere is welcoming, the food is delicious, and the service is always excellent. On this visit, Mhereem served us and she was incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating throughout our meal. She made us feel very welcome and ensured that everything was perfect for us. Saffa was also fantastic, providing great service with a warm and positive attitude. Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail really enhanced our dining experience. It's staff members like Mhereem and Saffa who make Afrikana such a great place to visit. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and outstanding customer service, and I look forward to returning again soon.”

  “Visited on opening day and had an amazing time. There was live music outside, the place looks great, and the vibe was really nice. The food and service were both spot on — loads of flavour and you can tell the ingredients are quality. Definitely recommend it and I’ll be back for sure. Keep up the good work 👍”

  “⭐ 1. Arrival & First Impressions From the moment we stepped in, the warmth of the welcome was clear. A friendly staff member greeted us with a genuine smile at the door, making us feel instantly relaxed and appreciated. We were seated promptly, and menus were placed in front of us without any delay. The décor and overall look of the place really caught my eye. I’d seen photos beforehand, but in person, it’s even better, cozy, modern, and full of character. ⭐ 2. Menu & Ordering The menu had lots of options, all laid out clearly. We decided to share a platter and went for the Chit Chats & Chicken at £36.95. It included: - 2 chicken breasts - Fried chicken tenders - 2 chicken thighs - Jollof rice - Rice & peas - 2 portions of fries - Coleslaw Enough for three of us, and great value for money. ⭐ 3. Food Quality When our food arrived, it looked fantastic. Since it wasn’t too busy (we came around 4pm), we could even ask for different flavors on the chicken breasts. 🔸 Chicken - Tenders: Tender, juicy, perfectly seasoned. - Breasts: Slightly on the dry side but still tasty. - Thighs: Juicy and cooked just right. 🔸 Sides - Jollof rice: Full of flavor and cooked to perfection. - Rice & peas: Soft, well-seasoned, comforting. - Fries: Fresh and crispy. 🔸 The star of the show The halloumi was absolutely outstanding. Thick-cut, rustic, fresh, and paired beautifully with what tasted like a mango chutney. Honestly, some of the best fried halloumi I’ve had in ages. ⭐ 4. Drinks We went for bottomless drinks. - They came out chilled, which was a nice touch. - There was a good range of sugar-free options like Sprite Zero and Dr Pepper Zero – perfect if you’re watching calories. - The sauces came in large jars, felt really generous, and we never ran out. - There is also a great range of cocktails ⭐ 5. Cleanliness & Facilities I always check the toilets. they were clean, tidy, and well-maintained. If the men’s facilities are anything to go by, I’m sure the women’s are just as good. Feeling comfortable and hygienic really makes a difference. ⭐ 6. Accessibility - Easy access for those with limited mobility. - Clear allergen info available. - Staff were attentive and happy to answer any questions. ⭐ 7. Value for Money Afrikana gives you great value. Prices are fair, portions are generous, and the quality stays consistent. ⭐ 8. Parking The only downside: - Parking costs £1.50 for two hours. - It’s a 24-hour pay-and-display system (card or cash). - You can validate your parking afterward if you forget to pay right away (It would be nice if they offered some parking validation, but that’s a minor detail). ⭐ 9. Customer Service The service was excellent all the way through. Staff checked in regularly, asked if we needed anything, and genuinely seemed to care about our experience. Even during a quiet time, it felt sincere, not forced. ⭐ Overall Rating: 4.7 / 5 Food: 👍👍👍👍 Service: 👍👍👍👍👍 Atmosphere: 👍👍👍👍 Value for Money: 👍👍👍👍👍 We had a wonderful family outing. The place would be even livelier during busy times, but for a peaceful afternoon, it was perfect. The food was delicious, especially the halloumi, which was unforgettable and the staff made the whole experience even better. P.S This place does not yet offer a takeaway service at the moment.”
