  “Just to be clear this is not the pubs fault directly but they really need to vet who they let book events here. I was booked in good faith turned up and did the job properly. The person who hired me paid less than we agreed and came up with every excuse under the sun why. It’s not right that suppliers get short changed like this. The venue needs to take more responsibility and check who they are letting organise things and handle payments. Other DJs and performers be careful make sure your money is secured upfront. Disappointing experience and I won’t be taking bookings here again until things change. I will also be sharing this on the Essex and London group WhatsApp so it’s blacklisted to all the DJs in the area”

  “We were there to celebrate our Grandson’s Football team’s League Cup victory. The Golden Crane Pub is a Tradition 1950s built building with plenty of car parking spaces. Inside it is really nice and the staff are very friendly as you would hope. It has a lovely outdoor space in the Garden where the young ones played the whole time on scooters and in the play area where there is climbing apparatus and a slide. This area is fenced in so particularly good for the young ones. The garden has a lot of seating so you’re guaranteed a seat. There is an extensive food menu and although I never personally had food I’m told it is very good.”

  “The best cocktails I have ever had! A nice audience set my intimate tables and low lighting with beautifully imagined and constructed drinks, each with a back story. High quality to match the price. Will go again for sure.”

  “Terrible night at the Golden Crane for Christmas Eve. Used to be so much better, was dead by 10pm as this DJ couldn’t read the room to understand that people naturally wanted Christmas music. Worst DJ I’ve ever encountered, doesn’t understand how to mix and or take requests let alone know what people want to listen to… atrocious. Would not come back here again for an event like that.”

  “Brilliant atmosphere for the football. Great family-friendly pub. With a massive garden. No food, only English tapas 🤣 ie crisps,nuts,scampi fries. The only complaint is that the beer is a little pricey.”

  “Cold beer, Friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. All at a great price! Unfortunately food no longer served here, but the owner is cool and you can get fish n chips from a chippy down the road (or a curry froma a tandori rest.)”

  “The new owner has really turned this pub around. It used to be dark and oppressive and as a single lady I always felt uncomfortable walking in. Now my son and I love sitting in the garden together and seeing the lovely meadow garden. The food is great value and tastes fresh too. It really does have a friendly family feel about the place. I’m glad to now have a decent local pub for us to enjoy!”

  “Friendly pub with a lovely beer garden. They serve food but not much for a vegetarian or vegan. A little more effort with the menu and atmosphere it would get a 5”
