About Boars Head
Boars Head is a pub on Billericay Rd in Brentwood, open daily, with a garden beside a lake with ducks where dogs are welcome. The bar serves cask ales, so a walk with the dog can end with a drink. The kitchen cooks a Sunday roast with slow-cooked beef on the bone, and roast dinners come with roast potatoes, parsnips, stuffing and a Yorkshire pudding. Elsewhere the menu adds an Asian twist with Korean chicken, and desserts include Eton mess. Breakfast and brunch run alongside the lunch and dinner menus. The car park can get packed.

Customer Review Summary
Sunday roast is what reviewers mention most, with praise for the slow-cooked beef on the bone and the lamb rump, though the roasts draw the most complaints too. One diner found the trio roast not piping hot, with frozen-tasting potatoes and stuffing. Others report roast potatoes too charred, a Yorkshire pudding like a crisp, and scampi and chips too crispy to get a fork into. Close behind, the duo of lamb, Korean chicken, Eton mess and a lemon bomb dessert earn warm words from a ladies' lunch, and one reviewer calls the menu's Asian twist pretty decent. Service splits. Several praise polite, helpful, friendly staff, and one family was given food to feed the ducks. Another reviewer describes slow, disorganised lunch service, a missing cheese garlic bread and a half-hour wait for the menu, ending with the dessert not being charged. The garden by the lake gets mentions for its many dogs, and one reviewer notes the car park can be packed.

“Pretty decent food based on a menu with an Asian twist. Good selection of beverages too. Quick service despite dropping in last minute and a large group ordered before us. Good size outdoor sitting area, but the car park can be packed.”

“Came here for a late lunch with my partner and little one. The staff went above and beyond and the food was lovely. Staff even gave us some food to feed the ducks. We will definitely be back . Thank you for a wonderful visit.”

“Had lunch there today with a friend. Service was very slow and disorganised. Would not allow us to sample wine before choosing.. selected our choice of meal. Had to remin them that we ordered cheese garlic bread which didn't arrive at all. Asked for suite menue, this took at least half an hour to arrive. Suite arrived fairly promptly. They apologised and didn't charge for the suite. Very disappointing experience. Have had some lovely lunches here. Guess they were short of staff. Management need to address this”
