About The White Hart Buxted
The White Hart Buxted is a gastropub and steakhouse on Station Road in Uckfield, with real fires and a conservatory setting. Steak leads the menu, with dry-aged cuts, a tomahawk steak and a sharing steak, and a steak night gives regulars a dedicated offer. Barbecue is part of the kitchen too, including a brisket burger, and special burger deals sit alongside the main menu. The bar serves local Harvey's beer next to cocktails and wine. Dogs are welcome, and the pub has plenty of parking for those arriving by car.

Customer Review Summary
Steak is the main draw, with reviewers singling out the dry-aged sirloin, the tomahawk and a rib-eye served with a house sauce, plus a sharing steak with peppercorn sauce. Close behind are the Sunday roasts, including guest lamb, a beef, pork belly and turkey trio, and roast beef with large Yorkshire puddings. Burgers, brisket and ribs also earn praise, along with sweet potato fries and salt and pepper calamari. Staff are described as friendly and welcoming, and diners mention the real fires and dogs in the pub. The caveats are mostly about the roast. One diner found a vegan roast bland with too much filo pastry, no Yorkshire pudding or cauliflower cheese, potatoes too hard to cut, and water that took ages to arrive. Another found the fried onions on the ribs had turned hard. Several mention midweek offers, such as two burgers on Mondays and a Thursday steak night. One group asked about the music and were given the Spotify playlist.

“Just finished a fantastic meal here!!!! Salt and pepper calamari to start was delicious. Then the steak with peppercorn sauce and potatoes dauphinoise. Outstanding! The service was wonderful and atmosphere, everything I'd ask for. A lovely fire on the go too. Don't miss out on this amazing spot if you're in the area. It's hard to beat.”

“Great place for burgers and steaks. During the week they run food offers, eg. Monday-2 burgers £25. Definitely worth taking advantage of. Nice pub, well decorated with a good selection of drinks available. My rib-eye steak was cooked perfectly and was matched nicely with their own "mismatch" sauce. The waitress was wonderfully enthusiastic and a credit to the pub. We went on a Thursday steak night special and thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely recommend a visit.”

“Good Find, just passing though and needed to find a great steak house and yup we found one. Easy to find, no issues parking, Staff all really nice and the girls clearly knew their stuff with the food and recomendations. Food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, well rested, really good. We ordered a sharing steak soi couldnt have it as rare as i would have liked but i believe if i would have asked for it blue, it would have been perfect, as it was i had to compromise with rare for my with :) Absolutely well worth going, shame its not near where we live.”

“We went there for our roast dinner on Sunday. The starter was very nice. My roast dinner was very tasteless too much filo pastry not much filling. When ordered the vegan food I didn’t get Yorkshire pudding neither cauliflower cheese. The filling was also very bland. Potatoes very roasted too much that I could barely cut them. We ordered water few times which wasn’t brought for ages. The whole deal of 35 for 3 courses was more that the 3 courses I chose - all together for 34. It’s such a shame it looks like a lovely restaurant from inside. The dessert was very nice too.”

As soon as we walked in friendly staff greeted us straight away and got us some drinks.
