About The Coppa Dolla Inn
The Coppa Dolla Inn is a pub in Totnes, on Broadhempston, built around pies served with a baguette. The 2 in 1 pie fills half the dish with pie and half with cauliflower cheese, so one order covers both. The pies come in small, medium and large sizes, with a steak and ale pie among the fillings and vegetarian options for those who skip meat. Inside, exposed beams and a large open fireplace shape the room. Dogs are welcome. Reservations are required.

Customer Review Summary
The 2 in 1 pies are what reviewers return to most, usually half cauliflower cheese paired with a steak and ale, turkey, ham and stuffing, or roast chicken with stuffing and gravy filling. Diners describe the steak and ale as the best they have had in years, and a vegetarian notes two pie options. Pies come in small, medium and large, and a few say the large is very big and leaves them pleasantly stuffed. Close behind are the baguette served alongside, sides of carrots, leeks and red cabbage, and a good selection of puddings, with sticky toffee pudding and Coppa Mess named. A parent says a fussy toddler finished the toad in the hole from the kids' menu. The garden with views over fields and the dog friendly welcome also earn mentions, along with a friendly landlord and staff who trade banter and lend a lighter. The one recurring caveat is demand: several say tables are hard to get, one party got in only after a cancellation, and a few suggest booking in advance. One reviewer adds that the rural location makes the pub slightly harder to reach.

“This place will be a firm favourite from now on. They managed to squeeze us in tonight for a table for 2, and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The 2 in 1 pie was incredible and we both left feeling very full. Speedy service and a lovely venue. Thanks all :)”

“What a great proper country pub! The food was amazing, and honestly, the steak and ale pie was the best I’ve had in years. The landlord was really friendly and welcoming, and had a really nice Devonian charm, not just with me but with everyone who came in. A real little gem of a place, and I can’t wait to visit again.”

“First time here after hearing from people how good it is and everything was great. The weather was nice and sunny so we decided to have a drink in the garden over looking the surrounding fields. Stunning views. Wasn't too windy so stayed for dinner. I wasn't going to get the pie but the waiter convinced me and boy he wasn't wrong. I am a vegetarian there were two different pies I could have chosen from. I did the 2in1 small pie&caul cheese, it was just enough for me. My partner got medium and friends had a large. They are very big mind you need to be very hungry for a large. Every bit of food gone. The waiter kindly lent a lighter and had some very good banter. We did book as it can get very busy. We went around 6pm. When we were leaving it was busy inside. Definitely can't wait to go back:) Some interesting history inside. Thank You.”

“First time visiting and really thankful someone cancelled and we grabbed their table. We cannot remember the last time we ate such delicious food, it's no wonder you're fully booked on a Wednesday evening. Excellent quality produce and will definitely be back. Amazing job James and team, you deserve to feel very proud. Photo of baguette shows I'd couldn't wait and had already scoffed a quarter 🤣😂”

“I am confident there is no better place in the world to eat pies! 🥧🍻🏡✨ This has been one of mine and my partners favourite places to dine at for many many years! We even have a sketch of the pub up in our house as we had our first date here! Fresh home cooked food, cosy pub vibes and shout out to James for always being a great host!”
