  “It’s such a shame to see how far this place has fallen. The Castle used to be the place to go in Taunton. It had such a classy feeling inside, with A* service always guaranteed. Since they decided to shut the incredible Castle Bow, and lose the hidden second bar, the whole establishment is now a bit of a joke. Not sure what had happened to the family that used to run it, and I wonder if it’s been taken over - but it’s not a desirable place to go any more. You’d have found more atmosphere on Mars last night than was in Brazz. The clientele was all 70+, nursing a drink, and the restaurant was empty, maybe even closed. Such a shame to see the legacy of this once iconic place fall to ruin. The opening hours are rubbish, and the food menu at lunch time is not good. They have such a massive kitchen down there, and could be doing something really exciting from it - but instead they’ve chosen not to. No welcome when walking in, no goodbye when you leave. Table service has gone as well. Bad times. Cheers.”

  “I've just downgraded my 5 star review to a 3 star as Brazz used to be our resturant of choice for Taunton, we didn't mind paying a bit more because it was the classiest place in town. We visited this week as some friends had kindly given us a couple hundred pounds of Brazz vouchers as a retirement gift, we used the bulk of the vouchers a few months ago and the resturant felt completely different to when we had £20 left to spend this week. 1/ They've changed their opening hours it's very limited to when you can dine. 2/ We visited the website to book a table and got a warning that the site was not HTTPS and not to leave any payment details, as you have to provide a credit card number to book a table, so I sent an email asking for a booking, no one replied to it. The site is now working as HTTPS. 3/ We decided to turn up when they opened at 6pm in the hope they were not busy, when we did we were the only people in the resturant but were asked if we had a table booked, they said they guessed it would be ok if we were not too long, we were seated next to their reservation computer and could see that there were only three tables booked while we were there. 3/ We asked the waiter for our order not too have any cheese on it, he verbally told the waitress our order but omitted to tell her 'no cheese' so we shouted 'no cheese' had we not we would have ended up with cheese on it, we were not asked if we had any allergies. 4/ The meal was great, but some vegan options would be nice, a ceasar salad shouldn't be the only vegan option at a resturant. 5/ It honestly feels like Brazz has become a resturant that's for hotel residents only. As walk-ins we didn't really feel that welcome. Wildwood is so much more welcoming. 6/ Not sure what's going on with them selling art on their walls, not really the sort of thing we'd expect from Brazz. I'm honestly trying to be constructive as we've been visiting Brazz since it first opened all those years ago and have had many great meals and experiences there but there's something missing about the place now and it's not just the brunch.”

  “Couldn’t be more thankful to Kevin for making this family lunch amazing. Our grandad struggles with mobility and can be nervous about going out much, the service we received was so incredible and way beyond what we could have expected. Really went above and helped relax us all, hugely thankful. Food was wonderful, especially adored the deserts and the tiramisu martini was to die for! Thank you!!”

  “Terrible food. The "goat's cheese" was a blend of cream cheese with a tiny bit of goat's cheese in it (allegedly). It just tasted like cream cheese. NO goat detectable. The monkfish was on a bed of BLAND boiled potatoes that weren't even salted. The sticky toffee pudding was like a (bad) microwave pudding from a supermarket. I left it after one bite. Waiters didn't notice or care. So BAD service too. RIPPED OFF!!!”

  “Very nice restaurant. We had a margarita pizza and a fish and chips. The place is really cozy and the staff efficient and helpful. Fish very crispy in the outside and chips well done. The pizza was really tasty.”

  “Fantastic place, amazing food, and our friendly waiter Yiorgos (George) was helpful, professional and attentive in spite of being incredibly busy. The steak was excellent, and the panna cotta absolutely divine (thanks for the tip, George!). Cutlery came in sealed plastic bags and staff all wore masks which was very reassuring considering the current situation.”

  “We went there for cream tea. Usually, we go inside the castle but it was closed so we ended at brazz which is the restaurant associated to the hotel. The scones were excellent and the teas good too. Same products as the ones you'd get if you went to the cafe inside the hotel. The members of staff were pleasant and it all went very well!”
