Customer Review Summary

The roast draws the most praise at The Bell, with reviewers singling out the roast potatoes, gravy and yorkies, plus beef, lamb and a pig in blanket that came as a lovely surprise. Close behind are the pork medallions with their sauce, steak cooked to order, confit of duck, a salmon special, risotto, and fish and chips with homemade curry and tartare sauces. A garlic mushroom starter also earns a recommendation. Staff are described as warm, welcoming and patient, and one party was served just as the kitchen was closing. Reviewers also like the garden with its view of a field of sheep, the warm fires, and a dog friendly welcome that includes beer for dogs. The main caveat comes from one reviewer who found the menu limited for vegetarians and chicken fans, the space slightly cramped for larger groups, and the service open to improvement. A table of seven with mixed ages felt accommodated, and the staff prepared a surprise birthday cake for a grandmother.

“Well, well, well, I have finally found a chief can cook amazing roast potatoes and! Gravy. But that’s not the half of it. The meats for the roast were all lovely quality. We had Beef and Lamb. We also had the Pork Medallions - that is sauce of the year - can we have it on tap!”

“This was the first time for us at The Bell. We arrived just as the kitchen was closing but the staff were very patient and accommodating. The confit of duck and the salmon special were delicious served with lovely well cooked vegetables and chunky chips. Just like pub food used to be but hard to find now. Lovely views from the garden. We will definitely return.”

“What a gem! Lovely quiet location, dog friendly, nice garden with a view of a field with some sheep too. Staff was incredible - went above and beyond whether serving us at the bar or checking on us at the table outside. Aperol spritz was great but the foood.... OMG! Everything we had was very much home made. Even the curry sauce & tartare sauce. Best fish&chips I've had in my life! And I'm really picky! Oh and they serve beer for dogs as well as lovely treats! Great experience, will come back for sure and highly recommend to others!”
