Customer Review Summary
Diners come mostly for the tasting menu, in six or eight courses, often to mark an anniversary, and describe dishes that are beautifully presented, flavourful and balanced rather than heavy. One singles out the lobster and broccoli dish for letting the lobster itself come through, and another notes how few courses needed changing for a pescatarian guest. Close behind are the wine flights and pairings, with several praising a knowledgeable sommelier who guided them to a wine they had not tried. Cocktails and complimentary snacks or an amuse-bouche, taken on the sunny patio or in the lounge with sea views, set the tone for many. Service is called friendly, welcoming and unhurried. The one criticism comes from a repeat visitor who found the servers mumbled the ingredients of each dish, and who was promised an answer from the kitchen about the pickling liquor that never came. The same reviewer found the wine flight a marathon alongside eight courses. One couple, whose dog was made welcome, recall the chef coming out to chat over the dishes.

“We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at The Beach House in Oxwich Bay with the six-course tasting menu, and what an unforgettable evening it was! Every single course was absolutely amazing, beautifully presented and full of incredible flavours. Without doubt, it was the best food we have ever tasted, and each course was a delight from start to finish. What made the evening even more special was the wonderful staff, who were all so welcoming, attentive and genuinely lovely. They helped make such an important milestone in our lives feel truly memorable. We cannot thank everyone enough for giving us such a fantastic experience. It was a very special way to celebrate 50 years of marriage, and we will treasure the memories for years to come. Highly recommended — an exceptional dining experience in a beautiful setting. We can’t wait to return!”

“Matty's welcome and service very friendly and attentive as we're all the other servers.Made our dog very welcome and a lovely opportunity to meet chef Hywel Griffith who came out to meet us and for us to chat over some of the dishes and thank him and his staff for such an enjoyable taster lunch.”

“This was our second visit to the Beach House, it was a very hot Saturday lunch time and it was lovely to be able to sit in the sunshine and enjoy a cocktail and a couple of complimentary snacks while we decided which menu we wanted to have. We decided to go all in for the 8 course tasting menu though having learnt from my previous visit did not select the accompany wine flight as it is quite the marathon! I will let the pictures of the did speak for themselves. Everything was beautifully presented as you would expect; everything was flavourful and you know that a lot of care and attention has gone into each dish. Service was very good throughout, unhurried and friendly. My only minor criticism is that when each dish was presented the person serving us tended to mumble the ingredients of the dish and I found them quite hard to hear and on one occasion I asked one of the servers what the pickling liquor was in one dish, they advised they would speak to the chef and let me know and never did. Overall though I’m looking forward to coming back later in the year to enjoy the autumnal/winter menu and of course, beyond the restaurant itself you are blessed by being on the stunning Oxwich Beach so you can have a lovely walk either before or after your meal.”
