About Franco's
Franco's is a family-run Italian cafe on Nelson St in Swansea, where the kitchen runs pasta dishes and traditional full English breakfasts side by side. Bruschetta opens the Italian side of the menu, pesto pasta sits among the mains, and hash browns come as part of the breakfast plates. The team will substitute or add items to a dish on request, so orders can be adjusted at the table. Tables outside give the option of eating in the open air, and high chairs mean families with young children can settle in for a full meal. Service runs daytime only, seven days a week, which makes it a breakfast and lunch address rather than an evening one. It gets busy, so booking ahead is recommended.

Customer Review Summary
The bruschetta anchors most accounts, with one regular ordering it every visit and another calling the trio version generous and phenomenal on an Italian-by-night menu. Pasta dishes sit close behind, from a pesto pasta that took an added chicken without fuss to spaghetti with meatballs described as massive, and several single out other plates by name: chicken piziola with garlic sautéed potatoes, a tender steak and mushroom pie, and a light deliza di limone. Breakfast draws its own following for large portions, crisp hash browns and the complimentary cuppa. Friendly, accommodating staff and a family run feel recur throughout, though one diner rated the visit poorly, citing cheap bacon, hard eggs, a disappointing beef dinner and a waitress hovering over her shoulder. Another mentions a wait for the single toilet, and one found the exterior plain and the prices high, if ultimately justified. Several note it gets busy, and one suggests booking in advance. Substitutions, an extra hash brown swapped in on request, come up more than once.

“I come to Franco's quite often, since it is an absolutely wonderful spot to go for some quality food. I absolutely love their bruschetta, it's so well done I order it every time! Their pasta dishes are superb, and the staff and owner are always kind, polite and attentive. A friendly atmosphere with quality food is always a perfect place to dine at! My friend really enjoys their breakfast/dinner options too, let me try and WOW. The crisp on the hash browns, taste of the beans and bacon, all perfect. Seriously would recommend, whatever your taste they have it! (The ciabatta is very good too!) The range of options, (I highly reccomend their Italian dishes.) friendly staff, and lovely atmosphere keeps bringing me back. Seriously, try it! It's a favourite!”

“A really nice authentic Italian cafe tucked away on the outskirts of the city. Service was fast and charming and food plentiful and good quality. Excellent choices on menu”

“We are delighted to have been able to grab a table for 2 last night at the opening of 'Franco's italiano by night" The food was sublime! The trio of bruschetta was absolutely phenomenal with a beautiful generous portion given. The pesto pasta was extremely tasty and when I asked for chicken to be added, they didn't batter an eyelid. The deliza di limone was out of this world, light, fluffy and sweet with a generous squirt of lemon glaze. Most importantly the atmosphere was electric with many parties of people from different nationalities enjoying each other's company and enjoying the beautiful food from Angelina and her team in the kitchen. The price was extremely reasonable and the staff were attentive and friendly. Congratulations all on an amazing first night! A spectacular place if your looking for that authentic Italian cafe/restaurant feel and buzz of Napoli. A stones thrown away from the Grand Theatre if you're looking for something to eat before a show. After last night's success I'd recommend you book in advance as I suspect this beautiful little place will become extremely busy indeed!”
