About One Shoe Cafe

Paninis anchor the menu at One Shoe Cafe, a cafe on King Edward Road in Swansea, where named versions including the Boston, the Reuben and the Bahji Boy can be taken as a meal deal with crisps and a soft drink. Sandwiches fill out the rest of the lineup, among them a pastrami sandwich, and breakfast is served as well as lunch. Coffee runs from flat whites to iced coffees, and homemade brownies and red velvet cake sit on the counter, though the cakes can go by around midday. Indoor seating is limited, with further tables outside for anyone who prefers to eat in the open air, and dogs are welcome. The cafe runs on a walk-in basis, with no reservations taken. It opens Tuesday to Saturday during the daytime and closes on Mondays and Sundays. There is no dedicated parking, so visitors rely on nearby street parking and should check the signs.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers return to One Shoe Cafe above all for the panini, singling out the Boston, the Ruben, the Bahji boy and the loco, with a meal deal of panini, crisps and a soft drink also praised. Close behind come the sandwiches, where one reviewer points to generous pastrami, and the hot dogs, which another found great. The brownies and the biggest red velvet cakes draw repeated mentions, along with good coffee, a flat white and particularly good iced coffees. Staff and owners are described as friendly and welcoming, and the music and chilled vibe get a nod. The main drawback is availability: one reviewer arrived around midday to find the cakes sold out and the counter empty of brownies, so they settled for a panini each. Indoor seating is limited, though reviewers say the outdoor tables are usually free, and one notes the lack of dedicated parking and street signs to watch. One reviewer calls it a good quick lunch break.

  • Tom Denham
“I’ve been meaning to put a review up for a while cause I love this place! Such a quaint and qwerky place servicing incredible sandwiches and bakes!! We got the hotdogs today and they were great! Ive had a few options from here previously and they are always consistent with delivering good products which taste great! Highly recommend checking this place out. Seating is limited indoors but never NOT got a seat outside. There is no dedicated parking, but you should be able to find a spot on the street, I would pay attention to the parking signs incase you get stung though 🙏 I love this place, it’s great for a quick lunch break!”
  • Luke Howard
“An amazing spot for lunch with a welcoming atmosphere , brilliant panini’s, with great variety of fillings. I’d recommend the Bahji boy or the loco but I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them! The breakfast options are also brilliant and the chocolate brownies are superb.”

  • Craig
“Called in for a last minute panini and coffee and was lucky enough to get a seat outside. Plenty of options to choose from, I went for the Boston panini which was superb and the flat white tasted great. Service was really friendly and really quick. A panini, flat white and crisps all for under a tenner!!! The brownies on offer looked amazing, think that will be my next visit sorted.”
