Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out friendly, polite bar staff who stay quick even when the pub is busy, including one server who helped pick drinks for the kids. Real ales come close behind, with one reviewer noting six hand pulls in good condition and another praising guest ales not found in other pubs. Fish and chips, a delicious family meal, breakfasts and coffee refills also earn praise, and a few mention the big room, outside seating and roof terrace. The complaints centre on the kitchen and table service. One diner's classic American cheese burger arrived with stone cold chips. Another says food sat on the pass while two waiting staff talked, and a request to clear a table was met with a reply that it would happen if they had time. A third ordered a drink on the app, got the food long before it, and was told by the manager that nothing could be done. The offer to replace the cold chips only came when the plate was cleared, after the moment had gone.

“Spoons is Spoons. You know the score, and this is no difference. Getting our food in 10 minutes after ordering from the app is pretty decent, even for Spoons. Expect the usual labyrinthine route to the toilets.”

“Ordered a meal and drink on the app at 5:20pm. Food turns up 5:45, but no drink. Waitress says tthere is a 25 minute wait on drinks. I complain to manager and drink turns up 45 minutes after I ordered it. Manager says apparently there is nothing they can do about it.”

“Big and spacious. Quick, efficient service. I had fish and chips, always good.”

“Excellent place for both food and drinks at massively discounted prices. Pints of beer for under £2 for certain brands. Average price of a pint ranges between £2 to £4.50. Unlimited coffee refills £1.39. Excellent breakfasts from £3.25. A huge pub with plenty of room. An absolute must if visiting Swansea especially if on a budget.”

“Popped into Spoons and got served by Natalie — she was so lovely, quick and friendly even though it was busy. Got my order perfect, had a nice little chat, and made the whole visit way better great value and good atmosphere you expect from Wetherspoons was there as always, but Natalie's service really made the visit stand out. Will definitely be coming back, and hope to be served by her again.”
