  “Second consecutive Wednesday and another unfortunate delay with food, HOWEVER, this was promptly rectified by the Manager Abi who was great. Food was brilliant but just unfortunate with delays in time to get to the table. Sure it’s something that will be ironed out in weeks to come with the new Kitchen Manager. Thank you x”

  “I will not be coming back !!!! We've booked table for 50th Birthday meal for 11 people for Friday evening. On arrival the pub was quite busy which is expected on Friday evening. We've ordered the food at the table scanning the QR codes at approx. 7.31 pm. After waiting 1 hour and 15 mins for the food - it still had not arrived so when we asked about it, we were told that we need to wait another 10 mins. Yes indeed the food started being served after approx. 10 min but OMG - me and my partner had a steak - mine was burned to the point that is was actually bitter, onion rings were dark brown (over fried) and the mushrooms looked like were very old and just dry. The only edible part of the meal was the pees and chips...... This is my second visit to this pub for a meal and I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK. The service was slow and not even once any waiter/waitress asked if we needed any drinks..... I just think the staff cannot cope with the amount of guests and the kitchen staff should do some serious training as serving burned food to customers is actually dangerous and can lead to increased risk of cancers.......... POOR overall experience but I cannot give less than 1 star :(”

  “My first time visiting The Hardwick Arms and can confidently say that I will be returning very soon, Katie and her team were amazing from start to finish, the food was delicious and me and my wife thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Thank you again Katie, we hope to see you again soon.”

  “Visited The Hardwick Arms on Monday 13th July. Had reserved the table as we had someone in a wheelchair. Table was booked at 7pm and we ordered food at 7.19, being told that there was around an hour and a half wait. We decided to go with that but our meal was actually served around 3 hours later and several groups infront of us left without eating so if they had stayed it would have been even later! Goodness knows what the problem was - understaffing was certainly one - but as most of the tables had been reserved that is inexcusable because they knew numbers and should have been better prepared.”

  “A very disappointing visit. Was initially surprised at how quiet it was but now I understand. Waited for over an hour for some nachos and fried mushrooms. Had to ask for staff to check up and did not have anyone approach us with an apology or update. The explanation initially offered never came. Clearly issues because the bar queue had more people in than there were sat down. Despite all this, staff did not seem to have any urgency. The food again was not impressive. The portions were generous but unfortunately there were items missing and a starter was recooked due to being overdone. We thank the staff for their efforts for trying to rectify these issues and their politeness but it was a shame this was overshadowed overall.”

  “Had a lovely turkey roast here. Sunday afternoon, was full but not over busy. Food was absolutely lovely. Reasonable price and the staff were really good.”

  “My dad moved into a care home opposite and I take him across the road to the Hardwick twice a week in his wheelchair. I'd like to single out Stacey behind the bar for her welcome and friendship. Our regular drinks are ready at the bar when I've found a space for my dad. When it's busy she will look around the pub to find us a space. This makes my dad's day and puts a smile on his face. Every pub needs a Stacy x”

  “I've been driving past here for a few years now, but it has never been. I'm pleasantly surprised. Very nice pub, large car park. There are plenty of tables to choose from. The staff are polite and friendly, also professional. Ordered food from the bar, and food arrived promptly. Food was lovely, very happy. Will be bringing the family back here for sure. Thanks.”

  “Lovely pub, seemed busy around lunch time on a Saturday. We were told to wait for 30 minutes for food, which wasn't too bad. We just had a quick snack (nachos; ratio of tortilla chips to sauce was 2:1) and some nonalcoholic cider as we were driving back to the city. Great atmosphere and service. Just scored low for the lack of sauce.”

  “Went with friends . It's cosy and clean . We had food and drinks . The only issue was the staff and food was very slow took an hour to get our mains to us and then they were not the hottest and my steak dish seemed like it had been microwaved before coming out to me . Skin on sauce and steak went chewy as did prawns . At £16.99 I would of expected better . Overall would go again . They was busy in bar but not busy for food so ashame about delays”
