Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the bar and floor staff, describing them as friendly, welcoming and hard working, with several saying the service is what keeps them coming back and one noting the team remembers regulars. Food draws steady praise too: gammon with eggs, the chicken burger with its chicken gravy and the mac and cheese are named as highlights, along with mixed grill, fish and chips and a southern fried burger. One reviewer says the lighter menu, swapping chips for salad, is a great idea, and another had a meal adjusted to avoid carbohydrates. Others mention hot plates, quick service, a play area for kids and the quiz night. The main criticism comes from one reviewer who found the chicken platter and the cowboy burger underwhelming for the money and was told the roast dinners had run out on a Sunday. Another says there are too many lights. One diner returned and asked for two portions of the chicken gravy.

“Visited early Saturday evening and wasn’t too busy so was seated quickly at the table nice family atmosphere. I ordered 2 kids gammon and chips and a salt and chilli kebab all of which tasted great. Elliot was serving on the bar and took the order he was very polite and happy to help”

“So we booked here after deciding to go for an evening meal together. I am a member of slimming world and thought a roast would be a great option when eating out. When we arrived, the lady told us that unfortunately they were out of roast dinners. Im sorry, but who runs out of roast dinners on a sunday? Anyway, because we were so hungry and couldn't be bothered to drive elsewhere we decided to give this place a go. I had the chicken platter, which for £20 was a bit underwhelming, considering I genuinely could have made that at home with stuff out of the freezer, I was a tad disappointed. It was nice and tasty, just very underwhelming for something that was valued at £20. My partner had the cowboy burger and enjoyed that, but again, for a burger, I would have thought it would been a little bigger. Don't get me wrong, we both enjoyed what we had (including the desserts) but were both slightly underwhelmed with the food. I would come back again, but it would not be my first choice im afraid.”

“Very clean and tidy place for food and drink. Elliot was very professional, welcoming and efficient serving behind the bar. Waitress was also very efficient. Food was good value, eggs were perfect, speed of service was exceptional, served with hot plates. Well done chef and your team. 2nd visit in two weeks, all good, marginally better this time. Served by Elliot.”

“We come in here quite frequently and the bar staff are really open and down to earth. They work hard and put alot of effort into every shift. They know regulars, make effort to make convo and are great people. Service is great, there's too many lights though. I feel they need to address the amount of lights and colours and types. Some of the staff though that make this include such a great pub are a girl called Hollie and I think there's a new supervisor/manager that makes the effort.”
