Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come back to the pints and the bar. One says the pints were pulled perfectly, another praises a good selection of beers, and the bar staff are called friendly even when rushed off their feet. Live sport is close behind, with a lunchtime Liverpool and Everton match screened and a brilliant game day atmosphere across plenty of HD screens. One reviewer, however, was refused the live cup final until the championship game finished, despite eight TVs showing the same match. Two reviews describe female door staff as rude to a group, with overheard derogatory remarks about other women, and both groups left after one drink, while the male security staff were called friendly. Food draws mixed reports. Some mention regular fish and chips and family friendly deals, but another reviewer waited a long time for dry burgers, lukewarm chips and rushed-looking pizzas, and suggests going for a drink and the game but eating elsewhere.

“I would advise people to avoid this place if you are wanting to watch live football as I visit this pub to watch the cup final & I got told by the member of staff behind the bar they can't put the live football final on until the championship game has finished & even the other customers said no wait until the championship game has finished even though you have 8 TV's on the same game I guess the regulars need 8 tv's the watch the game. Then you advertise that you will be showing the final DON'T ADVERTISE ON YOUR WEBSITE THAT YOU ARE SHOWING A FOOTBALL GAME WHEN YOU CAN'T BE BOTHERED IN SHOWING THE GAME.....”

“Nice place to visit for M&S has a good Barnardo's there, nice if you don't need much but at the same time everything seems to be there if you need it, that's what I've found every time I've been. Also it's always been a nice clean environment as well.”

“I want to like this place, but the vibe is just wrong. It's simply not welcoming, and I'm not even talking about the local who drink there. Comparing it to another pub which is a 5 minute drive away (named after a particular kitchen/bathroom appliance), the atmosphere lacks any kind of warmth. A friend of mine (who, I will add, has frequented the bush several times), was recently made to feel like absolute dirt by an employee for simply stepping in to use the toilet. Its an impersonal chain pub with people working there who lack any warmth. Honestly? Save your money, and look at reviews of other local places. I can promise you'll have a much, much better time”

“Cannot speak highly enough of this pub, great atmosphere, excellent management which is reflected in the helpful and friendly staff. We’ve enjoyed coming here on several occasions and each time has been great. I’d go as far as saying it’s a real gem of a pub, with its own unique character. The food is very nice too, and some excellent deals available that are so family friendly. Great door staff as well. Thanks all :)”

“Female door security extremely rude! Made me and my party feel like we were scum on arrival heard them saying derogatory comments about other ladies going into venue and leaving. They made me and my whole party feel that uncomfortable going inside we only stayed for one drink and we left. Male security were fine and friendly but the females are awful!!”
